Desktop icons flicker for one second when closing Microsoft Edge
Hello, I would like to report a regression affecting Microsoft Edge on Windows 10.
Starting with version 145.0.3800.70, and still present in the current stable version 145.0.3800.82, closing the Edge window causes the desktop icons to flicker for about one second, as if the desktop is being refreshed.
This issue occurs only on Windows 10.
On Windows 11, the same versions of Edge do not produce this behavior.
The flicker happens consistently every time Edge is closed, and it does not occur with any other application.

I have 2 PC on Windows 10 and Windows 11 and the bug is here in both and I use Edge 146.0.3856.62. Every time i close Edge the taskbar and desktop icons flicker on Windows 10 and on Windows 11 it's only desktop icons.
I switch to Firefox for the moment, i don't like those desktop icons refreshing every time i close the browser, really annoying. Hope this bug will be fixed soon

Hi! The team shipped a fix and it’s available in Microsoft Edge Canary versions 147.0.3912.0 and above. If you are able to test, please give it a try and see if the issue is resolved. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your reply, and take in consideration my "issue". The thing is , a couple of days, I tried in Microsoft Edge Dev , 147.0.3890.0 , in same system, same user account , and the flicker desktop icons, when Edge Dev , close , does not happen.. 🤔 I appreciate your suggestion.

hi i have the same problem and i am on windows 11 if you sort it can you put it on here many thanks i will do the same
if you have another user account on your Windows 11 , see if the same behavior happens or not. Another test could be, trying with another user profile in the same Edge . and see if the flickering stops. Also try in Edge dev, canary builds , it probably won't happen anymore . I'm still investigating the possible cause.
