X I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free. Recently, I replaced my aging motherboard with the exact same model, but Windows is no longer activated. I was not sure what else I could do, and I learned about this community while chatting with Microsoft Support, so I decided to post here. Current information I have confirmed: - Windows version: Windows 10 Pro (Retail) - Microsoft account > Devices: Both my previous PC and my current PC are registered. Troubleshooting I have already tried: Settings > Activation > Troubleshoot: Did not resolve the issue. 2. Tried activation using the Installation ID provided by Microsoft Support: Did not resolve the issue. The Windows 7 product key I originally used is still available, but entering it in Windows 10 results in an activation error. I would like to know whether my previous Windows 10 digital license can be transferred or reactivated on the replacement motherboard.40Views0likes0CommentsIssues with syncing calendar from outlook calendar in taskbar
I am wondering how I can sync a specific calendar from outlook to be the one that the events get pulled from to appear in the taskbar calendar that is displayed when clicking the date/time tool. Currently the calendar that appears when I click the date and time section is blank, and trying to make a new event from that popup does not save anything. When go into the outlook calendar app, I can see the multiple email accounts and their respective calendar, but yet no events from these calendars show up when looking at the calendar popup from the taskbar. When trying to make an event in this calendar popup, it even gives me the option to save the event to one of my outlook accounts (the gmail account I have integrated), but does not successfully save any event anywhere. I am wondering what is required to be able to see the events from my outlook calendar in this popup, and to be able to quickly and conveniently make events from this taskbar popup and have them save to my actual outlook calendar. Including a screenshot of the calendar in taskbar that I am requesting help with incase of any confusion.69Views0likes3CommentsSearch Bar not using colour theme on rest of device.
I restarted my computer today and this issue has suddenly occured, It doesnt matter what I change the colour theme too, when searching in the search menu I am presented with this light grey colour with white text which is incredibly hard to read, Online searches indicated stuff to do with Bing, Cortana and the Search registry keys, but I am not finding these keys anywhere in my registry to edit them. I have tried a few other solutions such as restarting the search services from task manager, but it is not applying the theme correctly. Had this computer for several years and never ran into this problem before, Any advice would be greatly appreciated.45Views0likes1CommentYour device is missing important security and quality fixes.
Does anyone know how to fix Windows update saying “you’re not up-to-date” “your device is missing important security and quality fixes” i’ve reinstalled windows several times using a USB media and also the upgrade now feature neither of them have worked for me. I’ve tried clearing the update cache to clear out any corrupt files also didn’t work, I really don’t understand what could be causing this because the drives have been completely wiped and it’s a fresh install of windows, I even tried re-downloading it onto the USB just in case the download was messed up somehow, It also says my pc is enrolled in ESU so I should be getting the newest updates, at this point I think it might be something on Microsoft end108Views1like2CommentsCan't Remove Microsoft Account After Windows 10 ESU Enrollment
Hi, I enrolled my Windows 10 PC in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program using my Microsoft account so I could continue receiving security updates after Windows 10 reached end of support. The update installed successfully, but now I can't remove my Microsoft account from Windows. Here's my situation: I sign in with a local Administrator account, not a Microsoft account. netplwiz confirms my account is local. However, Settings → Accounts → Your info shows my Microsoft email address. Under Settings → Accounts → Email & accounts, my Microsoft account appears under Accounts used by other apps with "All apps can sign me in." There is no Remove, Disconnect, or Sign out option. I've already tried: Removing all Microsoft-related entries from Credential Manager. Restarting the PC. Removing the device from my Microsoft account online. None of these removed the account from Windows. Is this expected behavior after enrolling in Windows 10 ESU? Is there any supported way to disconnect the Microsoft account? Thanks in advance.100Views0likes2CommentsWindows 10 activation lost after hardware change – Troubleshooter didn’t detect my linked device
Hello, I am having an issue with Windows 10 activation after replacing hardware in my PC. Before the hardware change, my Windows 10 installation was properly activated, and Windows showed that the digital license was linked to my Microsoft account. The PC was signed in with that Microsoft account, and the device was also visible on my Microsoft account page. After the hardware replacement, Windows automatically deactivated because it detected a hardware change. I tried the Activation Troubleshooter and selected the option “I changed hardware on this device recently”, but the original device was not offered in the list, even though it had been linked to my Microsoft account before the change. I also tried entering my original Windows 7 product key (the one on the sticker attached to the PC), which was used to activate Windows 7 before I upgraded to Windows 10 for free. However, Windows rejected the key with error code 0x803FA067. This is not an OEM license, so as far as I understand it should be transferable after a hardware change. Has anyone experienced this before? What should I do next to restore activation? Is there a way to manually re-link the digital license to this hardware? Thank you.86Views0likes4CommentsKOBO Arc no longer connects to Win 10
Hoping someone can help with this. Been using this Kobo arc for at least 10 years on this computer with no problems. As of tonight, it no longer connects (last time I connected was only a week ago or so). I see the Arc in the device manager but with a question mark. Information, shows no driver loaded. When I try to update the driver using the update driver dialog, I get message that the MTP USB Device system file was not found. I locate wpdmtp.inf in the Windows/INF folder, but right click/install yields a 'file not found' error. Kobo Arc connects to WIn 11 computer no problem using the same cable. Tried various fixes found on internet, but haven't found anything that works. Nothing else, including other USB periperals, are acting weird or unusual. Jestem posiadaczem karty sieciowej TP-Link Archer T4U Plus V1.0. pobrałem do niej dedykowane sterowniki. I have an Acer Aspire 3 A315-21-4808 laptop with Windows 10 (64-bit) version 22H2 that gave up the ghost about 1½ weeks ago. As it is, what I consider, my backup laptop I decided to resuscitate it back to life. But I wasn't going to break the bank on it. I ordered a new battery and a new 1 Tb HDD. So, before people suggest that I could have upgraded to a SSD drive I didn't want a complicated laptop resuscitation, that's why I went the HDD route. Now to get to the problem. When I tried to install Windows 10 on the UEFI firmware I get a "No bootable device found." But when I changed the firmware to "Legacy" I had no problems installing Windows 10. Can someone explain to me what is going on and if it's possible to get my laptop back to UEFI?Solved185Views0likes5Comments
