Hello, I was working on a spreadsheet that is uploaded to SharePoint. I download the file so it's opened in the excel app instead of trying to update it from the web.. I was pulling data from one tab to another using =, then going to the tab I want to pull data from, selecting the cell, then hitting enter... So it looks like this: =Active!D41.. (Active is the name of the tab, D41 is the cell I am referencing...) It's worked over and over and over until all of a sudden it stopped working!! Strangest part is when I go back to the cells that already pulled the data and re-enter the formula, it's no longer working for that either!! So incredibly strange!! Anyone know whats happening? Are you only able to pull over a certain amount of data from one tab to the next? Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thank you! Hello all, In Excel 2010, I have selected the Power Query Tab > (Get External Data) From Other Sources Button > From Sharepoint List Button. Entered my site's URL and am prompted with 3 options: Anonymous, Windows or Microsoft Account. On this Microsoft link, it states that there should be a 3rd option, Organizational Account: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Connect-to-a-SharePoint-List-Power-Query-3226f248-f8b3-4777-82ce-b4ed04dedaaf#ID0EAADAAA=2010-2013 This seems like the option I would need considering an Organizational Log-in is required to access this site. Is there a way to link my Organizational log-in to the Microsoft Account option? If so, when I click on Sign In from the Microsoft Account Option I receive this error "The WWW-Authenticate header doesn't contain a valid authorization URI. Header value: 'NTLM'." Help is greatly appreciated, thanks so much. -Rich6KViews0likes0CommentsHow to update a sharepoint list from excel table?
Excel 2013 I have lot of working excel workbooks, that are update on daily basis from several users. I wish to push to a Sharepoint list a standard content (table) in order to create only one table for making reports and comparisons among all worksheets data. In the previous Excel version there was an add-on available to do this job (syncronizewssandexcel.xlam), but now I am not able to find it (seems deprecated). How can I get out from this stumbling block? There is another supported method?2.4KViews0likes1CommentComplex Spreadsheet, very high disk usage working out of SharePoint directly
I'm trying to figure out what's the root of this issue, but the gist is I have a very formula heavy document that is currently misbehaving dramatically. Co-authoring has gotten very flaky, not too surprised about this, the doc is slow, also expected. What is perhaps most interesting, I am working directly through the SharePoint document library instead of through OneDrive synced folders, and when attempting to "save" some large changes excel starts spinning at around ~30% CPU of a quad core, and constantly at 30-50MB/s disk activity! This went on for well over 10 minutes then ended and the status changed from "Saving" to "Saved". I've no clue why there is so much disk activity for a file that is not even stored on my hard drive! I assume excel is saving some temp files or something, this is expected but the file is not even 3 MB in size! What could excel possibly be doing that amounts to ~18GB of disk activity!!!1.7KViews0likes1CommentImporting data into Excel 2016 from Access/Sharepoint database
Hello I have an access database that has linked tables with sharepoint. I have historically linked queries to an excel spreadsheet and imported data with no problems in access and excel 2013. After upgrading access and excel to 2016 the the Excel spreadsheet will no longer connect and shows “connecting to database” but never does. I noticed that I can link to standard access tables but NOT tables or queries that are linked to sharepoint. Not sure if this is some new security or other feature. Please advise. I've created an excel sheet that pulls data from two excel online sheets that are linked to forms filled out on a weekly basis. Because it's in my onedrive, I'm the only one who can refresh it, which is less than ideal. Is there any way to create it in such a way that multiple people could refresh it?1.4KViews0likes5CommentsCannot retrieve previous editions of excel document that is shared with multiple users (365)
Dear All, At work we have a document that is uploaded in Onedrive and is worked by 5 colleagues at the same time (365). We have been using it for more than 6 months with no issues so far. Today we came upon something really strange. Some part of the data were missing and when we tried to retrieve previous editions of the document (version history) in order to see what happened we cannot. For all recorded changes, the following message pops up: "Sorry, we couldn't open 'https//xxxxx-my.sharepoint.com [...]' Is there a reason for that? Can something be done? I have a sharepoint list for colleague assessments. Each time they are assessed we rate our colleagues from 1-4 on each of their different tasks. this is done on sharepoint. what i would like to do is ask excel to look at the lists and display the average rating for each colleague on each process. I was thinking of something like a IF AND formula that says 'check the sharepoint list and if the colleagues name is X AND the process is Y, work out the average in the ratings column. I could do this if i exported the list to sharepoint, but as far as i know, when i update the list, it wouldnt update the export and so i would need to keep exporting. Is there a way to create this desired outcome live, with minimal maintenance? TIA1.2KViews0likes3Comments
