Are there any places to develop the searching capabilities in MS To-Do? Currently it just seems to search for anything in the subject line. It would be very useful to be able to search across all tasks no matter which list they were in for tasks created/completed on specific dates. It'd also be good to have some advanced searching so you can find all tasks created within a specific month that contained specific words in the title. I appreciate this can possibly be done in tasks within Outlook but would be more useful and simpler if possible within To-Do. Hello We have a portal for collaboration between people working here and customers. This is a SharePoint site with each collaboration space created as a subsite on that site. Each subsite has its own permission groups etc. The issue we're facing, which has been coming and going, is that the search is not working for external users. When trying to debug this I have given an external test account every combination of permissions I could think of, but to no avail. Users who have reported this error report that they can navigate to the files they want to search for, but when entering things in the search bar there are no results. Another strange quirk is that the search field is in different locations for external and internal users. Internal users get their search bar on top, while external users get their search bar above the site navigation Any suggestions? What are some settings that could affect this?4.6KViews0likes2CommentsI need to search by groups, areas o departments of organization

I have a SharePoint 2013 Search farm in which I have a bunch of query rules. I plan to copy all these query rules to SharePoint Online. Is there a PowerShell script that can help me export the rules from SharePoint 2013 and import it in SharePoint Online? I tried searching, but with no luck.3.1KViews0likes2CommentsCustomising the search box Ui in SharePoint 2016
Hi I have been asked to improve the appearance of a search box that is centrally ( don't ask!) situated on a SharePoint 2016 publishing site landing page. I can toggle with Search box web part settings to switch between search center and a custom search results page: Here the issue is how do I change the height as it looks a bit odd on the page :-( With the custom results page option issue is conversely, the width - the entire web part zone is filled! Ideally I want the users to have a consistent search experience on the intranet so I am thinking I should go for the first option. Therefore, If the problem is a CSS style that is being overridden then any pointers will be useful Note, there is an underlying (archaic) custom responsive master page + CSS +JS which I do want to replace once the business is happy with the searching capability. I am thinking of the Enable-PnPResponsiveUI --> Classic Team Site (STS#0) but still need to deal responsive UI Page Layouts.2.7KViews0likes3CommentsWe need GPO setting to block one word address bar search
We have enabled GoToIntranetSiteForSingleWordEntriesInAddressBar and thought this would block single word search in the selected search engine. That is not the case. There should be a setting to block single word search from the address bar. Even better if there was a way to split the bar into old school style url and separate search bar. The reason for this is that the one word searches leak internal server names etc to the search engine. Suggested setting: DisableSingleWordSearchInAddressBar ex. Current behavior: "server123" is typed in the address bar. Edge tries to connect to the server but fails because the server name does not exist. Browser redirects this as a search to the default search engine. expected behavior: "server123" is typed in the address bar. Edge tries to connect to the server but fails because the server name does not exist. Browser returns 404, site does not exist.2.1KViews0likes3CommentsSharePoint Online Search Issue
Hi All, I have the list in SharePoint Online site and only owners can see the results. If we try with other users who is having contribute access, no result is displayed in search result. But that user can see all content only search is not working, so permission should not be the issue and it is happening for all sites in the tenant. Please assist. Thanks in advance Regards1.7KViews0likes4CommentsCustom SharePoint group and SharePoint Home Search
Hello, I've created an additional SharePoint group to have Read Only access to the site. However, on searching for the site using the SharePoint page (https://<tenant>/_layouts/15/sharepoint.aspx), it doesn't find the site. Is someone else experiencing the same? Is there any other work around, instead of adding the users to visitor group? Thank you. Bhavpreet BainsSolved1.1KViews0likes1CommentSharePoint Search Usage Logs
The out-of-the-box SharePoint usage logs are a great way to get insights on what are most frequently searched terms, queries returning no results, etc. Is there a way I can get these stats by users too. I mean, what has each user tried to search when and whether s/he got the results or not? If not OOTB, does any third party tool assists in getting these stats?1.1KViews0likes0Comments
