One of the key areas where the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) expands on NIST 800-171 is system recovery, specifically the ability to recover from any event that compromises the integrity and availability of data. Backups are called out in the Recovery (RE) Domain and include the requirement to backup all content, not just CUI and other critical content. Further, testing backups is now a requirement and likely to be validated during a CMMC assessment.5.1KViews0likes0CommentsUsing ASR across multiple subscriptions
My Recovery Services Vault is setup on our primary EA subscription, but I would like to replicate some VMs into our MSDN subscription for test/dev purposes. I want to avoid creating a separate configuration server on premise or even a seperate Recovery services vault. Is this possible?5KViews0likes2Comments[urgent] Recover entire system from Windows.old
The original issue came about when I plugged in a hard-drive formatted for a NAS bay as my second PC hard-drive. Suddenly, my computer insisted that Windows 10 was corrupted, even after removing the drive from the system. I spent a long time trying to recover it with a USB bootable media, but Windows said it could not do anything to fix the system and needed to do a clean install. I now have Windows.old, which to my knowledge is completely uncorrupted and just needs a nudge in the right direction, and it is staring me in the face as this ticking timebomb that I need to figure out before it gets automatically deleted. I don't have any specific files I need to recover, I just don't have the time to reinstall all of the programs and all of the user data and custom stuff I've built up. I've searched everywhere but can't find an answer, so I would be so, so, so, so appreciative of any help. Is there any way that I can just completely recover the entire system from the windows.old folder in a situation like this? I am happy to pay up to $100 in licenses for stuff, I just want to get back to running my online business knowing that it's all set up and secure as I had it.4KViews1like6CommentsRestore Team - Associated Group Still Exists
Hi, I have been asked to see if it is possible to restore a deleted Teams team. This the story so far: Team was reported as being deleted Files on SharePoint needed to be restored so one admin reportedly restored the SharePoint side of things I was then asked to restore the team. Based on the documentation, I can either do it via Powershell or Exchange Online. I confirmed that the group isn't in a "deleted" state at this point. So I do not have the restore option in Exchange Online or Powershell I can see the team in the Teams admin center, but it is grayed out and has the follow error: We can't load complete information about this team. Please refresh or try again after some time. In the research I have done, if the group itself was deleted, I should be able to restore the group and it should bring back the Team. But in this case, the group still remains, it is just the team that is gone. Is it possible that when the first admin restored the SharePoint site, that that brought back the group? But this process didn't fully restore everything? Cheers, Todd3.8KViews2likes11CommentsDoes SharePoint Online Tenant data is stored in multiple data centers?
Does Microsoft store SharePoint Online Tenant data in multiple data centers? If they do, are they active at the same time? If not, if one is read-only, how is the high availability achieved and what is the recovery point objective?2.4KViews0likes3CommentsRecovery option in Windows Service - MSIX
How can I set the recovery option for a service in MSIX? I tried adding capabilities (Local System Services and Packaged Services) and using the sc failure command through PSF; however, it didn't work. Does MSIX support the service recovery option?2KViews0likes3CommentsRecovery does not work for suddenly blocked hotmail account
Hi, I try to help a friend who is suddenly locked out of his hotmail account. The account was made very long ago, so unfortunately the recovery emailadres doesn't exists any more. We did the complete recovery process (twice already) and were able to give exact emailadresses and email subjects like requested. Immediately after submitting we received this: We have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership. This cannot be reviewed by a person in zero seconds. And the automated system clearly fails! What extra info can we give? Also: We have taken the additional step of blocking your account until we can verify you as the account owner. This will prevent any further use of the account and protect you from any possible malicious activity. So the blocked account is extra blocked? How can we access the account again? The owner is not good with computers (that's why I help him) but he needs his account for important documents like his paychecks, contracts, tickets... Thanks, any help is appreciated!1.8KViews0likes2CommentsDiagnostics and recovery toolkit

Azure Backup for your Windows 10 PC allows you to backup Files and Folders and store and backup them to the cloud. You can use this for small environments, VIP machines or for remote workers which are always on the road. Data is encrypted on the on-premises client machine using AES256 and the data is sent over a secure HTTPS link. Backups are stored encrypted in Azure with the customers own key. https://www.thomasmaurer.ch/2018/10/backup-windows-10-microsoft-azure-backup/1.4KViews0likes1Comment
