167 TopicsIssue with accessing personal vault on OneDrive app post restart
When I opened my onedrive mobile app today the app pushed a message saying that a restart was required. I restarted the app and it told me to set up my personal vault. I've been using my personal vault for several years now so no set up was required. When I logged into my personal vault, all of the files within it were missing. They're available on the online version of onedrive but not in the app version. There's nothing in the recycling bin and there's no recent activity to suggest mass movement/deletion of files. I've restarted the app multiple times, tried with and without wifi, and have tried on different devices - all are showing an empty vault. Has anyone had this problem? Is this a syncing issue or a bug with the new app?4.4KViews11likes19CommentsOneDrive Context Menu Missing on Windows 11
OneDrive Context menu missing Hi guys, I’m having some issues regarding OneDrive and it’s Context Menu not being present on files. Environment: Windows 11 23H2, Intune managed OneDrive Build: 25.005.0112.30003 (64-bit) Affected users: all I tried all the fixes I could find on the Internet, but none have helped. Devices don’t have issues with synchronization, they only have an issue with the Context Menu missing. I can only see Always Keep on this Device and Free Up Space. Even if I press Show More Options, only the same only two previously mentioned appear. Is there anything else which I could have missed? Intune policies – no one seems to control such a thing, the context menu. Is there really not a known fix for this issue? 1. UAC control - ⦁ https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-to-change-the-user-account-control-policies-to-allow-onedrive-context-menus-1f957672-848d-48bb-bfe8-5af828613211 In my case, both explorer and onedrive are with No, at the Elevated status According to the above article, the following Local Security policies are in place: 2. Check if the shell extension is blocked https://www.elevenforum.com/t/add-or-remove-move-to-onedrive-context-menu-in-windows-11.26916/ The Key Blocked did not even exist on the device. I’ve went and added it manually, for both current user and all users, nothing has changed. 3. Fresh install of OneDrive, downloaded from ⦁ https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/onedrive/download – no luck 4. Reinstalling OneDrive with /allusers parameter – no luck. Had a look through HKRoot\* - nothing I did made a difference. I can see that other users are complaining of this issue to this day - Windows 11 File Explorer context menu missing View Online and Version - Microsoft Community Options OneDrive not visible in File Explorers context menu - Microsoft CommunitySolved8.6KViews7likes12CommentsOneDrive Issues
The OneDrive on my laptop isn't allowing me to upload any files as it is saying I don't have any storage available, but when I open OneDrive on the browser, it shows more than sufficient storage as I pay the subscription fee. Is there any reason as to why this is happening? I have contacted Microsoft support, which have been no help at all, giving solutions to problems which is not the issue I'm experiencing. The Microsoft support page is no help at all and trying to raise a support ticket is more or less impossible as the website keeps blocking the request. Now bear in mind i have went again and paid the subscription fee now for a second time to see if this fixed the problem, and no luck, took the money and no difference. I have uninstalled OneDrive from my laptop, I have reset the onedrive, i have tried all imaginable tasks, with no help from Microsoft Support. Does anyone have any solutions to this? Also, would anyone know how to get in contact to get the refund for the duplicate subscription fee?163Views3likes1CommentPeople Section in Photos on OneDrive app
Why can I not see the 'People' section in Photos on the OneDrive app that is depicted in the following Microsoft support topic titled 'Group photos by people'. The purpose is to enable users to find photos that have particular people in them. Great feature, just can't find it in my OneDrive apps on either my Business or Personal Microsoft 365 services? https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/group-photos-by-people-21065f48-c746-48ad-a98a-cbe4631631bc Is this a new feature that hasn't been rolled out yet, and if so when is it coming?22KViews3likes10CommentsReorganize Onedrive ADMX template folders to match MSFT standards for Policydefnitions
Dear Onedrive Team many things you achieved are really awesome and cannot be missed anymore. For a long time now the ADMX structure in the Onedrive Client folder is not matching these of other products like - Windows 10 / Server - Office - Teams - Edge I plea to consider this change request to restructure the current folder to meet with the microsoft defaults. Affected Products: Onedrive Client (incl. Onedrive for Business) Affected versions: all Usecase: Users/Admins can pick the files in the folder without intervention and place them to sysvol\policydefinitions Requested Actions: 1a. Machine based installation: rename C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft OneDrive\buildnumber\adm to admx 1b. User based installation: rename %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\BuildNumber\adm\ to admx reason: The folder contains no legacy adm files but modern admx files adm was used when it does really contain adm files (e.g. Office 2007/2010) 2. rename the folder structure according to the unified language descriptors (also called culture codes) current: en / de / fr expected: 4 letter language code with this convention ab-cd en-us, de-de, fr-fr, etc according to this list, as used in all other MSFT ADMX templates Language Code Table (lingoes.net) I see they are also using codes like en / de for not region specific languages like (German, with not further accent), yet this does not comply with the structure in Policydefinitions and Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) or eventually Intune. 3. Place the onedrive.adml into the specific (currently missing) subfolder en-US current state expected structure (aside there are some languages not shown in this example. cc: Stephen Rose Thank you very much on your feedback, perhaps also why Onedrive does actually differ here from other products, while I hope this is just unintended.4KViews3likes4CommentsOneDrive KFM Desktop Shortcut Duplication
When redirecting the desktop with KFM, any shortcuts deployed via GPO get duplicated whenever the user signs into a PC for the first time. Assuming because the shortcuts get added before KFM has kicked in so OneDrive is never aware of them. Big issue for our students as they have lessons on different computers all the time. Anyone come across a decent way of overcoming this issue? I have thought about doing a GPO to run a script that removes duplicates however that's very dirty and may remove some items that we don't want removed in the future. Thought i'd tap into the community knowledge before sinking time into a fix!2.6KViews2likes2CommentsIs MS-ONEDRIVE shared links not working correctly ?
To all, I use MS-ONEDRIVE quite a lot by sending links to my clients to access the architectural plans etc I create for their projects. A few days ago a client e-mailed me noting he couldn't see all the folders in the link I issued to him. I then issued a new shared link to just one folder, which is open showing the content. However, the most odd behaviour, is that the menu at the top with:- Share, Delete, Move to, Copy to, Download, Rename & Embed Version history etc Changes when you click on more than one file to download, i.e. the menu changes to:- Delete, Move to & Copy to So one can't download the complete files at one time & these may be many ! This didn't happen before with MS-ONEDRIVE, so does anyone know whats going on with MS-HQ, is it another glitch that needs correcting ?95Views2likes1CommentDoes OneDrive Photos have face grouping like Google Photos?
Hi everyone! I've been using OneDrive Photos for a while and I was wondering if there's any feature that groups photos by face, similar to what Google Photos offers. In Google Photos, I can see all the pictures of a specific person automatically grouped by their face. Is there a way to do the same in OneDrive, or is this feature planned for future updates? Thanks in advance for your help!1KViews2likes8CommentsOnedrive not syncing to file explorer (Windows11)
Hi team, I've recently come across an issue with my one drive suddenly not syncing to my file explorer. I have lost access to viewing my shared documents in file explorer. I can only access my shared files via them default opening in a webpage and not the local file explorer like they used to. I do not have access to change the default program via the "open with" option as I have seen could work - the only option I have is "open" which then opens the webpage. Can anyone help advise how to work around this and regain access to my shared files in file explorer please? Thanks.1.4KViews2likes11Comments
