I HATE setting up a new computer!!! With that in mind, I'm struggling to establish contacts/email address as I'd had on my old computer's Outlook 365. Both new and old computer (no longer available) are/were using the latest 365 Office software. What I am trying to replicate is the ability to begin typing a person email address in the TO area, and having suggestions appear. NOTE: I believe that Outlook somehow records addresses used, and these may be part of what drives Outlook to make "suggestions". Though obliviously not all used email addresses appear as a "contact", I'd love to have this data available for use in "suggestions"....but on to my initial issue... I found some "contacts" files which, despite my low tech abilities, I managed to import into my new computer's Outlook (see attached photo). However, I now have three (3) "contact" lists as shown, with only the second and third list containing any entries.....and those entries, while having some similarities, are different. Ideally, I'd like to have the contents of the second and third list combined, and be available within the first list. BTW, when I create a new email, I get no suggestions presented from either of the two lists which contain entries.....I get nothing! MANY thanks in advance!!! Hello everyone, posting to report that after the latest automatic update to Microsoft Office 365 version 16.0.19328.20158, we are experiencing a critical issue on multiple company machines running Windows Server 2016: The Outlook desktop application launches normally, but when trying to open any email, the following error appears: “There was a problem opening this item... The text formatting command is not available... Reinstall Microsoft Outlook.” Launching Outlook in safe mode (Outlook /safe) does not help. Creating the FORMS2 folder (suggested workaround) does not fix it. Attempting a downgrade via OfficeC2RClient.exe fails with error 30183-27 (400). Quick/online repair from Control Panel also has no effect. In our environment, this issue appeared simultaneously on many workstations and servers, right after the Office update today. Temporary solution: We are instructing users to access their mail via Outlook Web App (OWA), which is not affected by this bug. We would like to know: If others have experienced this bug with this build, including on Windows Server 2016 If any working workaround exists, or an official fix timeframe from Microsoft Thanks to anyone who can share their experience or updates!1.3KViews1like6CommentsMigrating to Office 365
I have been using the desktop version of Outlook longer than many of the fine forum members here have been alive. After decades, I am considering moving my email to the cloud. The primary reason is that I find myself evenly split in time spent on email with my notebook and desktop PCs and I tire of using Remote Desktop to access the singular location of my PST file. I also answer email on my phone a fair bit, and those emails never make it back to the nest. For these reasons, I think I should try moving my email to the cloud, where all of my devices will be pinging the same source. That's what my head tells me, anyway, but I really have no idea what I'm talking about. What is involved in moving a traditional PST-based desktop email system to Office 365? Why would I want to do this and why might I not? And should I conclude that this is worth a try, what is the recognized best practice for getting my rather large PST file up in place for O365?1.1KViews0likes4CommentsSupport for auto-filing sent emails
I am looking for a solution to this scenario in the New Outlook: I send tens of emails per day The sent emails are stored in the Sent Items folder I need to manually move each of them into the sub-folders in my Archive folder - e.g. one for support cases Is there any way to automate the step (3) - i.e. to automatically file the sent emails into the folders they belong to? The Classic Outlook had "When replying to a message that is not in the Inbox, save the reply in the same folder" which is not present in the New Outlook. Maybe the New Outlook should have something even more powerful? In addition to this feature, a button suggesting into which folder each message should be filed? Finally, the Outlook Rules are very powerful but they do not apply to the sent emails. Maybe time to generalize these?114Views1like7CommentsOutlook for Mac inserts signatures at the very end of an email chain
Hi community, This seems to be a new issue caused by an Outlook for Mac update in recent months. When reply to an email, the default signature is inserted to the very end of an email chain instead of the end of the reply one is about to draft (in other words, above the attribution "On <data>, <name> wrote ..."). I can currently work around this issue by enabling "when replying or forwarding, use the format of the original message" (under Settings -> Email -> Composing). This seems to be a bug.65Views0likes2CommentsProblemen met outlook, missende functies oa Categorieën, opvolgen en sjablonen.
Hi, Since this morning, Outlook (Microsoft 365 version updated to the latest version) no longer allows me to send email messages immediately, but only offers the "schedule sending" option. Furthermore, it doesn't allow me to schedule the sending for today, but only for tomorrow. The version of Outlook used is the Legacy version. This problem does not occur on the "current" version. I have already tried restarting both outlook and the entire system, but the situation has not changed. The problem does not occur using the web version of Outlook.1.3KViews0likes2Comments
