We have shutdown skype for busines server . Done below steps 1. changed all the dns configuration 2.changed coexistence mode in teams admin center to teams only. 3. Enabled external chat settings in teams admin center. Now when users tries to chat with external user it shows "chat is disabled , This user is currently using Skype for Business". when I checked teams admin center and powershell command I got following results. Teams admin center : Interpretedusertype: HybridOnPremEnabledUserWithSfBAnd Teams License Powershell results : Hosting provider : srv: Interpretedusertype: hybridonpremteamonlyuser (Attached) Only for few user external chat is working and the configuration is as follows Teams admin center : Interpretedusertype: HybridOnlineEnabledUserWithSfBAnd Teams License Powershell result: Hosting provider : sipfed.online.lync.com Interpretedusertype: AADConnectEnabledonlineteamonlyuser (Attached). Please advice how to fix this issue."Migrate this user's meetings to Teams" setting when changing to "Teams Only" mode
When changing a specific user to "Teams Only" mode from the Teams Admin Center there is that field/setting that says: "Migrate this user's meetings to Teams". What should be the expected result from having this ON?. Will all this user's Skype meetings be migrated to Teams meetings?. I am asking because we are piloting the Teams Only mode with a few users and their Skype meetings are "intact" after the change meaning that meetings did not get migrated or changed to Teams at all so I just want to confirm that I am looking at a realistic expectation or if this setting means something else. What does this setting mean? Thanks Cristina GomesTeams User Keeps Getting "Continue Your Conversation Here" Link in Existing Conversations
Hi, This user has been using teams for months, this issue arose on Tuesday. All was working fine before. Now any time they have a conversation with an external user who is still using skype (their org is still transitioning to teams) they get a message at the bottom of their conversation that says "Due to Org Policy Changes, some chat and calling features are no longer available. Continue your conversation here" When they click that link it opens another chat window entirely like they're having their first conversation ever. This happens with any user who is external, and it used to work perfectly in the past. This problem replicates to the web app version of teams as well. We already re-installed teams standalone app to the desktop and that did not rectify the issue. The user is using a teams exploratory license as well and I removed it and that didnt fix the issue either. I attached photos of the error message and how you can see the same person's conversation pops up in another chat window entirely. Please advise.QoS Port Range
Hello, My company is currently working on migrating from SfB to Teams and we want our Teams to deliver quality in terms of Calls, Video and App/Screen-Sharing. In order to do so we want to enable QoS for Microsoft Teams, but we can't seem to agree on the port range to open up to set this up and we hear 2 sides to QoS. One side says we need to open a lot of ports in orde provide QoS seemlessly, another side says the port range doesn't need to be that big for a large amount of users. Hopefully you guys can help me clarify this! Our situation: - Company with around 7.5k employees - We call/meet/share a lot in these Covid times One side says: You need to open following ports E2E for QoS: - Audio: 42501 - 50000 - Video: 50001 - 57500 - Screenshare: 57501 - 65000 The other side counters this with (E2E): - Audio: 50000 - 50499 - Video: 50500 - 50999 - Screenshare: 51000 - 51499 Who is at the right end here? Does a port get reserved when someone is using it and someone else can't use it then or can multiple users use the same port for audio or video or screenshare? Big thanks in advance!SolvedMTR - Sign in issue
Hi Community, Hopefully you can assist me... [Business Background] Our business is in the process of migrating from On-Prem Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams. [Work Performed So Far] I've setup a MTR using Logitech Rally & Tap in our boardroom. Created an on-prem AD service account (domain\HO-BR) Synced to AzureAD Assigned an E3 license Used PowerShell to convert a room *I have not provisioned a SIP account in SfB [What Works] Teams Meetings Zoom Meetings [Issue] The Logitech Tap is displaying a "sign in" error (doesn't actually appear to affect functionality - just annoying to see). "We can't sign you in because the server couldn't be reached or the server version is incompatible with the device." [My Thoughts] I think it might be to do with DNS entries referencing our legacy on-prem Skype for Business. lyncdiscover.domain.com.auTeams Only cutover
We plan on cutting over all our users to Teams Only mode in a few weeks. A couple of questions for anyone who has done this. "Notify the Skype for Business user" - I planned on turning this on org wide a few weeks prior. Any idea how long it typically takes to show up? If you close it out, does it re-appear? I haven't been able to find many technical details on this setting. Any gotchas on flipping an org with about 5500 users to Teams Only? I planned on doing this later at night, so when users start up the following day it will be applied and Skype will be disabled. Thanks!Migrate CAP Devices from SfB to Teams
Hello, we are migrating from SfB 2015 on-premises to Teams, which includes PSTN telephony. The client wants the migration to be a long process for business reasons, so users in Sfb and users in Teams will have to coexist. We have found that the customer has old CAP devices, not compatible with Teams. The customer knows they have to buy new Teams-compatible CAP devices, but wants them have the same name. That is, if the device was called Room1 in SfB, it has to be called Room1 in Teams, because user call the device searching the name Room1. 1 - What is the proper procedure to migrate CAP devices from SfB to Teams? For users the command Move-Csuser is used, but I do not find information for CAP devices. I suppose that because the devices are not-compatibles, the only solution there will be: - remove the old CAP device from Skype, how is it done? - install the new CAP in Teams 2- can users moved to Teams call the old CAP devices from SfB? I mean SIP call (1 to 1) from SfB to Teams, not PSTN call Thanks a lot for any informationMigration from Skype On-Prem to Teams - users stuck in HybridOnlineSfBUserNeedsProvisioning status
We've migrated the majority of our users from Skype On-Prem to Teams but users that have been migrated since last wednesday (9/23) are all stuck in the HybridOnlineSfBUserNeedsProvisioning status. Normally users are in this status for around 10-20 minutes but quickly change to HybridOnlineSfBUser with full functionality. It seems like the provisioning on the microsoft side isn't running or being triggered for some reason but I can't find any reason for this. I have a customer who is on S4B on prem (all users homed on prem) and some users also have the Teams client (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/SkypeForBusiness/hybrid/plan-hybrid-connectivity#implications-of-the-retirement-of-skype-for-business-online). Those users with Teams can initiate a Skype chat with external users (federation) but the recipients (in TeamsOnly) cannot reply to that conversation. Instead they get this message and by clicking the link it takes them to a new native Teams chat where they can write to the user in Island The user in Island receives the message in the Teams client (which shouldn't happen) but they cannot reply in that chat. they the get message "Due to org policy changes, this chat is no longer available. Continue with Skype for Business" I have read a few sources in MS docs where it says that users in Island mode communicating with external (federation) should receive all messages in S4B client. Routing for federated chats and calls differs from in-tenant routing in that Islands users will always receive a federated communication in Skype for Business. This is because the federated partner may not yet be using Teams. Routing to Skype for Business for any islands mode recipient ensures messages will always be received. Routing to Teams could potentially result in missed communication if the intended recipient does not use Teams. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/coexistence-chat-calls-presence#federated-routing-for-new-chats-or-callsSolved
