Microsoft Forms has recently introduced support for pre-filled responses, which is a very valuable addition. However, the lack of read-only fields significantly limits its usability in real-world and enterprise application scenarios. In many workflows, especially those involving bots, kiosks, or guided user interactions, some fields must be pre-populated with system-generated data such as user identity, email, or contextual information. These fields need to remain visible to the user for transparency, but must not be editable in order to guarantee data integrity and prevent tampering. Currently, there is no reliable way to enforce this behavior. Even when using pre-filled URLs, users can still modify the values before submission. This creates a risk of data inconsistency and makes it difficult to maintain a secure and synchronized interaction between the client and backend systems. This is not just a UX limitation, but also a data integrity issue in integrated workflows. As a result, developers are forced to implement server-side validation and ignore user-provided values for critical fields, which defeats the purpose of pre-filling them in the first place. This forces developers to rely entirely on server-side validation, reducing the effectiveness of pre-filled data and introducing unnecessary complexity. While Power Apps can address this limitation, it is often too complex and heavy for simple scenarios where Microsoft Forms would otherwise be perfectly adequate. Suggested improvement: - Allow form fields to be marked as read-only or locked - Optionally support hidden or system fields - Allow pre-filled values to be protected against tampering - Preserve compatibility with pre-filled URLs This feature would enable Microsoft Forms to be used in secure, system-driven workflows without requiring migration to more complex platforms.102Views0likes1CommentHow to anonymise user file uploads in MS Forms
Hi, I've created a form to allow users to anonymously report IT incidents, but when someone uploads a file I'm getting an email from Sharepoint Online telling me the name of the user who's uploaded it. The red in the top right is the users name. The form itself doesn't tell me the username, that part of the anonymisation is working fine, it's just this bit related to file upload. This kind of defeats the point of allowing anonymous reporting, and whilst the users wouldn't know, it is a breach of trust when we're trying to create a positive attitude to security. Is there a way to turn this off?133Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft Forms – users submitting form without filling in required fields
Hi, can anyone shed light on a problem we're experiencing? We have a Microsoft Form for submitting content requests managed through Teams and using a Power Automate flow to pull responses through to Freedcamp. Recently multiple users have submitted responses without filling in required fields such as contact details etc. And one user was able to submit a form after uploading a file that was over the maximum size limit, which caused the Power Automate flow to fail. The fields are definitely marked as required on the form and appear with an asterisk. I am unable to replicate the problem. When I try to submit a form it flashes up a warning message saying 'The question is required'. The only edits we have made since the form was set up are to the text of questions. We haven't added/deleted questions or changed branching etc. Has Microsoft brought in any changes that could have introduced a bug? Hi everyone, Not sure if this has been addressed before - I couldn’t find anything about it in this forum. Since Copilot is now integrated into Microsoft Forms, there doesn’t seem to be any option to disable it (like in Word, Excel, Powerpoint). What I find frustrating is that every time I open a previously saved form, Copilot automatically runs checks and generates recommendations—which, in my experience, aren’t particularly useful. More concerning is that this process does consume AI credits. I'm on a personal plan with 60 credits, I’d prefer to have control over how and when those are used, rather than having them spent automatically on features I didn’t explicitly choose to use. Microsoft support has confirmed that there’s currently no way to turn Copilot off in Forms. Is anyone else experiencing this, and isn't this something Microsoft should address? Thanks!274Views1like2CommentsQuiz scores and review scores are not equal. Why?
Hi maybe someone can help. Why is my actual test score 100% when I view my results, but if I check my score with the "review scores" option from admin screen, it only comes out to 67%.....? How do I get both to reflect 100%. I am looking to use the auto grade function. The drop down answers is not important as it's just gathering info. If I manually bump the score +1, that 67% won't increase (even with a refresh) to 100% but the answer gets a correct flag and I can see the "extra credit". This is very confusing for such a simple app. I get the same issue when I tried to use a branching question on another quiz. It's not being scored in one scenario (person doing the test so they get 100%), but in review scores, it's counted as a question and it comes across as a missed answer or something, so the percent is off. My comment refers to this voting: https://microsoftforms.uservoice.com/forums/386451-welcome-to-microsoft-forms-suggestion-box/suggestions/18447406-allow-form-respondents-to-save-and-continue-to-fil In our company we use sharepoint and MS 365 Business every day. MS Forms is very intuitive and esasy to handle, thats great! I made a long survey on sustainability topics to our members. Then I got feedback that in many cases more than one person in the adressed member companies have to work together according to their expertise... so they need the option to save the survey, send it to another colleague who can conitnue answering the question... Right now I have to look to alternative tools to fullfill this very important option. But I would prefer to continue my survey (where I already put more than one week of effort) in MS Forms. Is there already any timeline, when Mircrosoft will implement this function? Best regards from Germany Matthias105KViews18likes56Comments
