Dear Community, I have been tasked with researching MDM deployment and enrollment. Our current situation: We currently have a hybrid environment synchronizing with AAD but have O365 for our mail exchange. We only have Office 365 Business Essentials licenses and we would like to deploy MDM. Where we want to go: We would like to manage what applications can be used to synchronize company mail for example Company Portal. i preferably would like this to be enforce so the native mail applications are not able to be configured to synchronize mail. that said, if users don't enroll using the company portal app, configuring their email address is not possible. I would like to remotely wipe, at least mail access and content by the administration portal. If remotely wiping a device is also possible its a plus. I don't know if this is feature based or License based. i know that the company portal application is related to intune, but upon login in to azure AD portal i see that i need a premium subscription to use intune. But is this also necesary to deploy specific policies and enforcing what i would like to achieve? I created I will kindly wait for feedback and replies.Solved24KViews0likes4CommentsOffice 365 Group Licensing reprocess time?
I can't find any documentation on how often the reprocess occurs of a group used for Office 365 licensing. When I add a user to a group on prem, force Azure AD Connect sync, I see the user is in the group in Azure AD however I notice they are not assigned the license right away. Does anyone know how often that occurs? If I'm looking to do it quickly I need to hit reprocess. Thank you. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/users-groups-roles/licensing-groups-assign8.8KViews0likes2CommentsMicrosoft Teams Exploratory end date
I would like to know the date of my Microsoft Teams Exploratory license. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-exploratory#how-long-does-the-teams-exploratory-experience-last state it will end on the yearly anniversary date or the subsequent year after the first end-user activates the Microsoft Teams Exploratory experience licenses. Our tenant uses month to month licenses. How can i find the start date of the first license? Or better, when this license will stop. The product license page state a expire date of Expires May 11, 2853. This seems to be in every tenant on the internet.5.4KViews0likes1CommentAssign Yammer license to all licensed users Office 365
Hello I need help in adding Yammer to all licensed users in Office 365. We already have bunch of licenses for all the users. For example, each user has Enterprise E3, Enterprise mobility + Security E3, ATP. However the sub license: yammer is unchecked in E3 Plan. I tried doing through powershell however all the scripts were based on location and disabling licenseoptions. Is there a script for all licensed users (or by usage location: US) to add yammer add on in E3? I tried the script from: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Bulk-Assign-License-with-5477e8e2#content however I get the error as :Set-MsolUserLicense : Unable to assign this license because it is invalid. Use the Get-MsolAccountSku cmdlet to retrieve a list of valid licenses. I have used the Get-MsolAccountSku command and got the same results. Not sure if I am missing something Thank you.3.3KViews0likes1CommentOnline Services available even if there are no Licenses issued
I want to have a couple of users which are not able to use any of the Office 365 online services (like Planner, SharePoint, OneDrive). Therefore I created a security group with the members and a standard Office 365 E3 license and only Microsoft Teams as an application. But the user is still able to access all online services.3.3KViews1like9CommentsMicrosoft Enforces New License Rules for Teams Room Devices
On March 24, Microsoft announced new rules for licensing Teams Rooms Devices. Instead of being able to assign a user subscription license (like Office 365 E3), tenants must assign a Teams Rooms Pro or Teams Rooms Standard license to the room mailboxes used by devices. If they don’t, the devices won’t be able to connect after July 1, 2023. Microsoft suggests a script to find licensed room mailboxes. It’s OK, but we can make the script run much faster, which might just be important in the types of tenants that use Teams Rooms devices. https://office365itpros.com/2023/03/29/teams-rooms-devices-licenses/3KViews0likes0CommentsEnterprise to Government Compliance Center Functionality Compariston
sarah gilbert Chris Hoard recommended that reach out here and seek your wisdom. I seek a functional comparison chart for the E series (licesenses) to the equivalent G- Government for Compliance Center. Is there such a comparison available? The challenge is that we have former non-gov IT folks now working in Gov and they are seeking/expecting functionality that was in Enterprise M365, but _appears_ to not be in Gov. We seek a "this is in e, but not in g" kind of resource. Is there such a thing? Thanks for the help and clarity on this front will greatly improve our M365 adoption!Exchange Online Adds Support for License Stacking
Microsoft announced support for concurrent Exchange Online license assignments, aka license stacking. This means that the workload can sort out the capabilities made available to a user through multiple licenses and make the maximum functionality available to the user through whatever’s deemed to be the “most superior” license. If that sounds like so much mumbo-jumbo, it might just be, unless you’ve been plagued by people losing access to their mailboxes because of shifting license assignments in the past. If you have, this change will make you very happy. https://office365itpros.com/2023/01/25/exchange-online-license-stacking/1.2KViews0likes0Comments
