We are in process of migration from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2016. In our environment we have a lot of InfoPath forms. I know we can migrate the InfoPath forms from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013 and then to 2016. Given that InfoPath will be deprecated, we don't want users to create more InfoPath forms as this will be difficult for any future migrations. Are there any alternative in SharePoint 2016 from Microsoft for InfoPath forms? We would avoid using third party tools. Thanks in advance for your help!Solved27KViews0likes11CommentsSoapServerException error when customizing list form (SPO and SP-onprem) using InfoPath designer

We are working on a SharePoint 2013 Environment. We recently made changes to the form template and published it. We are able to access the new template by opening up a new form from the Document library but the Issue is that it has also updated forms that were submitted previously to the document library. I checked the Form Option (Versioning) settings in Infopath and it is set to "Do Nothing" to update existing forms. Not sure how the existing forms got updated. Anyways I really need to restore the existing forms to the previous version. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!3.2KViews0likes0CommentsIn SharePoint Online, double-clicking on list item displays XML instead of opening InfoPath
In SharePoint Online, we have a list using InfoPath forms. This was working fine until 2 days ago. Now, if a user double-clicks on a row, instead of opening as an InfoPath form, it displays the xml. Sometimes it display xml, sometimes it says "Hmm.. looks like this file doesn't have a preview we can show you." Microsoft Edge displays xml. Chrome displays xml. Internet Explorer spins. If a user right-clicks on the item and click Edit in Browser, the InfoPath form opens as expected. If we create a new view of the list with Name (linked to document with edit menu) and click on Name, it opens as an InfoPath form. Has anyone else run into this issue? Is this a way to control what happens when a user double-clicks on a row in a SharePoint list?2.6KViews0likes1CommentDefault Form Missing - Stuck With InfoPath option
Hi All, I'm wondering if anyone has seen this issue and knows of a fix. I had an InfoPath form ties to a list and would now like to remove it and use the built in/default form. The problem is I do not have that option in Form Settings anymore. The default has now become the InfoPath option! I no longer have InfoPath installed I attempted to save the site as a template and reopen in a new site to disassociate (did not work) I have see the Site Collection option to Deactivate but seems like I may loose the associated list items (which is a dealbreaker) Any help is much appreciated!2.3KViews0likes3CommentsInfo path software

Hi, for many years we have been using Infopath to "front-end" our Sharepoint lists (where a bit more intelligence/styling was needed on the form rather than using the basic Sharepoint list form). With the upcoming demise of infopath we are looking to replace this functionality by using the "Integrate/PowerApps/Customize forms" option that has now appeared on the top link bar on Sharepoint lists. However it seems like a PowerApps license is now required to do this. While we fully accept this for developing and building the forms themselves, our end users do not need the full capabilities of the PowerApps license to build and develop themselves. They only need to be able to use the form to enter the Sharepoint list data where they already have access to the list. What options are available re our end users and licensing, they did not need anything extra to use the infopath forms?Solved2KViews0likes2CommentsSharePoint Server 2013- How to edit an InfoPath Form that has been Published to a Document Library
We have users fill out InfoPath Forms which get published to a document library in SharePoint. How do I edit the InfoPath form after it is published to a library? I tried downloading a copy of the form but it opens on read only mode. I tried editing in the Browser but that doesn't work either. I have the Form Template saved locally but I want to specifically make changes to a form that a user has submitted. How do I go about this?2KViews0likes0CommentsFunctionality of InfoPath and SharePoint Designer-Created SharePoint Content After 2026
What will will happen to existing forms and workflows created with InfoPath and SharePoint Designer when they go completely out of service in 2026? Will everything created with them still work the same? Or will the mechanisms that once existed that allowed these to work slowly be phased out by then? When considering whether or not my company should invest in the time and energy it will take to move everything to a Modern site, if we will still be able to maintain the functionality we have for some time. I suppose I am looking for more information on what, if anything, not switching from InfoPath and SharePoint Designer will do to our user experience and/or why people recommend switching sooner than later—versus switching to Modern sites (We are using the Classic experience right now), and . I want to be able to present the most well-rounded information to my staff. I've done some digging myself, definitely, but I'm thinking people here might have even more poignant/focused positions on the subject. Who better to know our products and the benefits of transitioning them to newer technologies than those of us who work with them every day, right? That's my thought, anyway. (We are on SharePoint Online, btw.) Thank you, in advance.1.8KViews0likes2Comments
