forwarding
8 TopicsForward/be notified of emails sent to nonexistent address on same domain? Not admin. School account.
My student email address (Outlook) contains a misspelling of my name (one missing letter). So it's very easy for people to send their emails to an address that doesn't exist, thinking they're sending it to me. What would be great if I could somehow have those emails forwarded to the correct address, or at least be notified when people try to send an email to the nonexistent address. I've tested things a bit. When I try sending an email to the "wrong" (correct spelling of my name, but nonexistent) address, I usually get an email from Microsoft indicating the mistake. But not always. And even when I do, it sometimes takes a few minutes, or it goes to some easily overlooked folder besides the main inbox. I worry that busy people might send an email to the wrong address and move on, never noticing the following error email. I know one obvious solution is to ask my school's IT department to make a new address with the correct spelling, and have all emails sent to the previous incorrectly-spelled address forwarded to the new one. But 1. I don't know if I'll be allowed to keep two addresses, and 2. I don't trust Outlook to successfully forward everything to the new address. I'd rather use a "catch-all" solution, where emails sent to the correctly spelled (but nonexistent) address are automatically forwarded to the existing (but incorrectly spelled) address. Or maybe I can somehow get a notification that someone has tried to send an email to the nonexistent address? Are either of these (or something else I haven't thought of) possible? Before taking this to my school's IT department, I want to see if there's anything I can do myself. Like I said, it's a student email address, so my options are probably limited. But I'm wondering if I have access to any settings (I mainly use the web version of Outlook, but I also have the PC app), or if there's any 3rd party solutions I can implement on my own that could accomplish something like what I have in mind. If I do end up having to ask my school's IT department for help, what should I tell them to try?135Views0likes3Comments[SOLVED] Forward M365 Admin Status Emails
Hi guys, I'm struggling to receive my status-Emails from AdminCenter oder EntraID. Background/ Issue: we use dedicated Admin-Accounts for the M365/O365 administration (as it should be), roles are assigned through PIM. Each of these accounts do not either have a mailbox nor any assigned licences. However, if I would have a mailbox created, I would receive Status Emails like some Admin account activated a role through PIM hence which I do not receive at the moment. Is there any feasable and managable way to forword these Emails to my (normal) user mailbox? I already tried with Mail flow rules in Exchange Online to forword these mails, but still a trace tells me 550 5.1.10 (address not found; obviously). Another idea was to set up a contact to achieve this, but as the Email address (UPN) already exists, this is not a possible solution as well. Is there a way to achieve this (maybe there's an easy solution an I only used the wrong search criteria in Google ;))? Many thanks in advance and cheers Matthias.Solved1.5KViews0likes2CommentsForward Adaptive Card

Please can anyone help with this?3.6KViews0likes8CommentsUsing an external number as an agent in call queue
My client has an auto attendant which sends calls to a queue that rings his desk phone. However, the queue also needs to activate an external ringer in case he's out in the field. I currently have such a ringer on a VoIP ATA (It is a Grandstream HT801) that is connected via SIP to another provider. To get it to ring, I just need to dial its number. I have set up a Teams user called External Ring with immediate call forwarding enabled to the ringer phone number and joined it to the queue. This user has Office 365 Business Basic and Business Voice licenses. Direct dials to the External Ring user work, but calls from the queue will not ring the forwarded number. Configuring the ringer number for simultaneous ring on my client's user account won't work for the same reason. From the posts I have seen so far, Teams queues will not ring external numbers defined on user accounts. I've toyed around with using SIP gateway, but it appears to only support a small pool of devices, and I'm not sure I could get the ATA to work with it. Is there some kind of workaround that anyone knows of?3.2KViews0likes1CommentHow to redirect calls in Teams if you are "busy on the phone"
Hi everybody, is there a possibility to set up the call forwarding in the Call Center feature to a way, that "busy" is considered "busy on the phone"(an agent actually talking to somebody) and not the status "busy in the agents calendar" for an event. This means the Agent has an calendar entry with the status "busy" but is actually free for phone calls, It's just that Teams is considering the Outlook event as a "busy" block?! Can this be circumvented somehow, so that Teams considers "busy" only "user is actually busy on the phone"? Best regards, Matthias9.9KViews1like3CommentsTeams Call forward question
Just wondering to clarify the when Team user A all call forward or no answer forward to Team user B has voicemail enabled, then call jump to user B and no answer. is that normal behavior caller will fall into user B voicemail, or any setting that can put the call back to forwarder (user A) voicemail? We use a ticketing system that accepts forwarded mail and puts the mail into categories, based on the forwarded address (like mailto:helpdesk@company,com or mailto:humanresources@company.com_ I have enabled forwarding via a contact in the Exchange Management Console, and that works fine. The problem is that the end recipient system needs have the emails from the forwarded account (mailto:helpdesk@company.com) and not the original sender. It appears this this is by design in Exchange; anyone know a work-around?Solved1.7KViews0likes3CommentsMigrating forward-only emails from IMAP server
Hi, I'm testing a trial of M365 Standard and have picked up a problem with my email addresses. I currently have four or five email addresses for old staff that are no longer with us, and these emails are set up to forward to another email so we don't lose anything. Occasionally we still get emails through these addresses, so decommissioning them completely is not an option. I want to migrate the old data from the server to M365 (to keep all our historical data in the one place) and continue to forward any new emails that come in to an actual M365 user. I considered creating a shared email address for each one...... I found a 'Manage Email Forwarding' link under one of my staff's user details in the M365 Admin Centre, however this link is not available for the users that were created by the shared emails, there is a message saying 'This user doesn't have an Exchange Online license.' I could leave them set up as shared emails but this isn't perfect, as to get access to the mail in those mailboxes without forwarding it appears I would need to log into each mailbox individually, or have each mailbox set up in Outlook and check them individually. How would you migrate those mailboxes? I can't really see a way to do it, however I am completely inexperienced with Exchange so I may just be missing a simple way to do it. Thankyou 🙂1.7KViews0likes1Comment
