658 TopicsRevert to a previous version of a file in Teams files
I opened an Excel spreadsheet from the team files area in the browser, edited it and saved it back in the files area of a team channel. I made mistakes in the editing. Now, I can't just use "undo" because the file has already been saved. Is there a way to revert to the previous version of the file?436KViews1like3CommentsNew Teams - Backgrounds Folder
Recently, Microsoft released the new version of Teams for businesses, allowing the option to move end users to the new version or keep them on classic mode. However, one thing we've noticed is that the "Backgrounds" folder is no longer present in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams. Does anyone know where this folder went?Solved280KViews4likes24CommentsForce Teams desktop client update
Hi all, I've recieved several questions about this and I'm also seeing too many topics about it here in the community. We all know about the update process for Teams as described here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-client-update and here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/update-microsoft-teams-535a8e4b-45f0-4f6c-8b3d-91bca7a51db1 for example. But sometimes you're just stuck as nothing happens when trying to clear the cache, reset the app, update and/or reinstall. This is an easy way to force an update of the desktop app (even though most updates happen backend). 1. Look for the latest version seen, one place to do it https://whatpulse.org/app/microsoft-teams 2. Copy the version number and paste it in the link below and hit enter. In my example, and at the time of writing, I'm updating to version 1.3.00.33971. https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-windows-x64/1.3.00.33971/Teams_windows_x64.exe I've been struggling with this myself some time ago knowing features being released backend but didn't show up in my desktop client. After this process the client was updated and the features appeared for me as well. Hope this will prevent some of you going mad.Solved172KViews4likes36CommentsBlock File Sharing in Teams
Is it possible to block file-sharing in Teams? Just enable chat and calls service in Teams. Because I tried to block it from the licensing view (disable Sharepoint online service) but it did not work...Besides, if I use conditional access to block Sharepoint online, it will also influence the access of Teams...Solved125KViews2likes12CommentsAttach icon missing in Chat
Hi! I started making my thesis last month and my supervisor suggested me to communicate trough Microsoft Teams but I have a problem with attaching files. He added me to a team, which I can see in the "teams" tab, where everything seems to work fine, but in the "chat" tab, where I speak only with him, it seems that I have kind of a "lite" version of the app because I miss the attach button and the software doesn't let me drag and drop. More awkward is that he can send me files and everywhere I look for help it says "simply click the attach button and choose upload from One drive or from your computer bla bla bla...". The same happens in Windows, linux, and the web version, so I infere that it should be something regarding my account. Does anyone has an idea if is it there some configuration or something that I'm missing? PS: I don't know if it's related to it, but maybe this extra info helps. In the Chat it's also missing the "Meet now" button, which I don't need, but it's also missing. Finally, when I click the "Add cloud storage" button in the "files" tab, it only shows the possibility to add an "Egnyte" account but not a one drive account. I don't need those functionalities, but I would really need your help to find the way of uploading files in the Chat.Solved121KViews1like13CommentsLink URL to Team Channel
Hello all, I'm trying to link a URL from a fillable PDF to a "Teams Channel". If I plug in the following URL, it works great (it links the user directly to a personal Teams Chat). However, rather than link the user to Chat channel, I want the user to be linked directly to a general Teams Channel. (I hope this makes sense). Is any of this possible? https://teams.microsoft.com/l/chat/0/0?users=XXX@XXX.com&topicName=Completed-training&message=TrainingTraining Complete:Solved115KViews1like6CommentsI can't see files in Microsoft Teams
Hi. I was using Microsoft Teams and when I tried to see the files on all my different teams I couldn't access them or even see them. This is the message that I get everytime I try to access any files, although it only started happening a few days ago. Any tips on how to fix this? Edit: this only happens in the Teams app, not in the browser version.Solved103KViews0likes8CommentsLinking the files tab of a Teams channel to a different SharePoint site?
We have an issue in our organisation where the link between SharePoint sites and Teams is becoming tricky to manage. I'll try my best to explain. Whenever we deploy a SharePoint site for a team or department, we have particular site collections that they go into, just to keep things neatly organised. The problem we're facing is that I might create a site for, say, HR, that sits in our HR site collection. When I want to create a HR Teams channel, creating the Team automatically creates and attaches a SharePoint site to that channel. However, this site is not the one we want HR to use and is stored in the wrong site collection. In other words, I create the Teams channel, Teams automatically creates an empty SharePoint site for the Teams documents to be stored in, but we've already got another HR site setup which is in its correct site collection. I'd like to be able to make the 'files' tab of the channel link to the correct HR site, not the default one the channel creates for you. I know you can easily add a new tab and select the right document library, but then any files you attach within Teams just direct to the files tab which is still connected to the wrong site. Does anyone know how I can do this? Or, is there a way I can create the Teams channel from the HR site itself so that it doesn't automatically deploy an additional site? Hello 🙂 I have a team with channel X already made (standard, non private channel). I have 2 guests I want to add to my team Is there a way to make them only see the files in this one channel X? Could I open the channel via the sharepoint site and give them access there? It is OK if they just use sharepoint teams site to access the files and forget about the Teams group? The only other way I saw is to create a new private channel, but for this don't I need to add the two members to the full team and then add them to the private channel? I don't want the 2 guests to see all the other files. Thank you 🙂90KViews3likes6CommentsProfile Pictures not updating
We're using a PowerShell script to update Teams/Outlook user profile pictures via Set-UserPhoto. Unfortunately, all too often users report that they don't update for them or others. We've identified that this is usually due to the Teams desktop client's cache. Clearing it solves the issue. The Teams client also caches general user information locally. Some data, such as display name and telephone number, can be cached up to 28 days in the client. Profile photos can be cached up to 60 days. This is unsatisfactory. Do you know of a way to not have to do this? Thanks79KViews0likes2Comments
