Caller ID Names currently work with dialing direct to the users' phone numbers but does not work when calls come into their mainline to an Auto Attendant or Call Queue. Is there any chance that the following roadmap would also address this major issue?? Reverse Number Lookup Enhancements (Q3 CY2020) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?featureid=64405 It's also listed on the UserVoice Forum marked as 'Try this instead'. Telling us on Feb 2020 to upgrade the phone firmware to the latest version, but that also doesn't address the issue. Display incoming caller Id when callers dial a call queue: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/37800577-display-incoming-caller-id-when-callers-dial-a-cal I also have a case open with MS Support (21101861) which I just got the following response: The call transferred from Auto Attendant to the below will not show the caller name of the caller only the telephone number. This is by design behavior • Operator • Teams user • Call queue This has been the #1 complaint about deploying the Teams Phone system and seems like it would be a basic feature of any phone system currently. I know I just missed the AMA last month for Teams but is there anyone on this forum that can help get this on the roadmap or know Alex (Teams Engineering, Microsoft Teams) on UserVoice to perhaps change the 'Try this instead' to something else, somehow I feel like making it that status takes it off the radar of the Teams Development team. In modern multi tasking cooperative work environments being able to mute or unmute your microphone without having to change the active window is a must. It reduces the strain of having to look for the teams app while presenting to or working with people. There is going to be an increasing number of users cooperating and this convenience feature is used by a vast amount of proficient users, gamers and ex-gamers that are used to the global hotkeys from TeamSpeak. The use-case was the same, you were busy in an interactive real-time game, talking to people, and you didn't want to disturb your team with unwanted noises. Having to ALT-TAB out of the game, or an application while working or teaching is much less convenient than just pressing a key anywhere any time. Also, a global hotkey should be freely configurable not hardcoded and immutable. Since global hotkeys could easily clash with other applications, the purpose is giving the user to freedom to have their limited number but essential hotkeys in their environment.22KViews13likes3CommentsMicrosoft Teams Call Volume too Quiet
My company recently switched to Microsoft Teams for our conference calls, and an issue I'm having involves call volumes when taking calls over headphones vs. laptop speakers. I typically take calls through my headphones, where volume changes work as expected. However, if I disconnect my headphones to listen to the meeting through the laptop speakers, the volume changes. For a split-second the volume will be at the correct level, and immediately afterwards will reduce so low that it's almost impossible to hear (think listening to headphones without having them in your ears). Despite this, my computer and Teams both claim the volume is at 100%, but this can't possibly be true. Any suggestions?503KViews13likes73CommentsLive captions not working in Teams (Potentially widespread issue?)
Hi all, hope you can help. I work for a local council in the UK's IT department and we were looking into why a particular user couldn't get live captions to work in Teams meetings/calls. All of the options are enabled to get them to work, but in teams calls, it just shows the area at the bottom of the call window where the captions should appear, but no words come up. We updated the user's computer, and reinstalled the Teams app. We have tested this on the Teams app, as well as the browser version of Teams, on multiple computers, with different people, to the same result. The live captions simply aren't working. The user also mentioned their sister who works for another council is also having the same issue. Could this issue with live captions not working be widespread?Solved27KViews11likes45CommentsWhy can't I join a meeting on iPhone without giving Teams access to scan my local network?
I tried to join a meeting today after updating my iPhone and now Teams won't let me join any meetings unless I give it access to scan my local network. This is a gross breach of security... is Teams scanning local networks on corporate desktop computers as well?75KViews11likes31CommentsCalls appear in chat history
Hi A couple of my users have reported they've started seeing their recent calls appear in the chat screen. I can't figure out how to disable this and it doesn't seem to do it for everyone. Has anyone come across this before and is it possible to stop it. It's the entries which start +44 that are the issue. There's no actual chat ThanksSolved35KViews10likes59CommentsIncrease video quality for screen sharing.
Am I alone in finding the video quality for screen sharing borderline unacceptable? It seems to cap out at 1080P with very strong compression at a low framerate. My company are all software developers with high end computers and gigabit internet connections yet we can't screen share a lot of the stuff we're doing in Teams due to the compression killing contrast between text elements and the low framerate making it difficult to follow. For reference, the workstation I'm using is a Ryzen 9 3900X with 64GB of RAM and a RTX 2080Ti with fibre gigabit coming in right under the desk and my colleagues' setups are similar. Can Microsoft enable a higher quality video mode to make Teams competitive with less convenient streaming software?Solved104KViews10likes18CommentsBluetooth audio out stops when using Teams
Hi everyone. I have a pair of Taotronics Soundliberty 79 earbuds. They've pair fine with my laptop running Win 10 and work for listening to music. I've also tested joining a Google Meets meeting and audio works fine in both directions. However, when I join a MS Teams meeting after a minute or two I can no longer hear audio through my earbuds, but the microphone continues to work and others can hear me. I need to go to device settings in Teams and switch to PC speaker/mic then back to the earbuds to restore audio which only lasts a couple of minutes before dropping out again. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this?Solved166KViews10likes68CommentsWeb app keep dropping and reconnecting on Firefox
In general I can't use the desktop app. Even on fresh installs I've never had it work well if at all in some cases. So, when I need to for work, I join with the web app. On several meetings across different companies I'll join and after about a minute or two I'll get into a cycle of disconnect and reconnect. The message is: "Hold On Looks like something went wrong. We're trying to get you back into the meeting." This disconnect only lasts 1-2 seconds every time, reconnects, and about 30 seconds or so later disconnects again for another 1-2 seconds and repeat until the end of the call. No other service I use get any kind of stuttering or interruption. From Zoom to Youtube, Netflix, etc. all work buttery smooth for me. I use a Ubiquity gateway and get alerts when there are LAN or WAN disruptions which does not happen. If I run a speed/connection quality test during this disconnect cycle they come back clear and healthy. Connection speed is gig and I consistently test at getting near full throughput. Since this is the web app not sure what I can do other than clear cache/cookies which I've done and still get the problem. I also get this with a fresh new profile. We use the NDI Out functionality in live event production. However, it appears that there's no NDI Out functionality in the New Teams desktop app. I've double checked that NDI is available across the organisation and it is visible within the release channel version of the app. Am I missing something in New Teams, and the functionality is there? It it isn't, will New Teams be receiving the NDI functionality? And where is it on the roadmap?7.2KViews7likes12Comments
