Hi folks, Following up from today's Office Hours presentation on Arc Had some minutes so thought I'd give it a try but have hit something of a wall. I set things up and generated the script, that went well but: Installation of azcmagent completed successfully time="2022-03-18T17:23:57+10:30" level=info msg="Loading AgentConfig file from: C:\\ProgramData\\AzureConnectedMachineAgent\\Config\\agentconfig.json" time="2022-03-18T17:23:57+10:30" level=info msg="Onboarding Machine. Hello! Is there a way we can trigger manually the call of the YearlyGivingFromEntity Azure Function instead of creating a transaction? The function was in a failed state when some transactions were uploaded. I updated it and it is running perfect now but I would like to get the contact yearly information updated. Any help is highly appreciated!893Views0likes1CommentUninstalling Cloud for Nonprofit
With the recent announcement of changes to both Dynamics 365 licensing and Azure credits, some nonprofits (especially small ones who may have installed the solution but aren't using it) are going to need to find alternatives. Perfect example of this: Remove All Aspects Of Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud Fr... - Power Platform Community Just wondering if anyone has links, resources or experience in removing the 'cost-producing' elements of the solution? Is it as simple as 'unpurchasing' the Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise licences, deleting the Azure resources and deleting the Power Platform environments? What else is there?Solved877Views0likes1CommentAzure Services for Fundraising & Engagement
chriszimney & team - We are implementing the Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit at a client and would like to understand the following further: What guidance exists for helping procure the right size SQL database for payment processing? What other paid Azure resources are required to complete the deployment processing? Understanding the total cost of ownership is important. What is the expected/typical monthly cost in Azure Services based on ~17 Sales Enterprise Users & ~15 Power App Users & assuming the Dynamics environments are not pay-as-you-go? Thank you!Solved820Views0likes3CommentsNFP - Defender for Servers
Hi all, Microsoft seem to want orgs to use Defender for Servers Plan 1 or Plan 2 which is priced via Azure. Is there any discount for NFPs to use this service, or is it expected to use the Azure grant. There's a real price difference between Defender for Servers and the old Defender for Endpoint Server619Views0likes3CommentsRemove All Aspects Of Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud From Azure
This is a lengthy background as I want to make sure that when it finally lands on someone's desk that Microsoft begins to understand that using AI to streamline their processes and save money is actually costing them consumers. Not sure if the Admins will keep the post up but will be publishing on my website anyway. As an extremely small Equine Rescue nonprofit with no paid staff and I am the only IT volunteer, any help that IS NOT telling us to Contact Support would be appreciated! BACKGROUND Microsoft Philanthropy is dropping the Azure Grant to $2,000 a year beginning October 1, 2023 and doing away with the the Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise licenses. They will come in around $23.80 each, per month. We currently run an instance of the Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud with zero data and that runs roughly $2,200 a month without any addons like Entra, Purview, Defender, etc. The reality is that it will be unsustainable as it is an additional $200 a year for Azure and then yet another $285.60 in licensing without any of the recommended addons. Of note is the fact that when we started, we did our own coding because the Partner wanted like $15,000 just to set things up. We were denied any ability to discuss pricing throughout the process. It is almosthttps://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/unistalling-whatever-you-call-this-365-for-non/0142c4a4-3f35-4ad5-9b63-ba1abc01127b. We submitted a ticket to Microsoft on Monday, Aug 7, 2023, 8:39:44 AM as Support request ID 2308070040004383. It is the second one over the past month and no reply. We attempted to contact the https://github.com/microsoft/Nonprofits/issues/11 and no reply. Multiple uses of the Contact Us on virtually every location I could find went unanswered including to the https://nonprofits.tsi.microsoft.com/EN-US/Azure-Onboarding-Concierge-and-Success-Center/. The Microsoft Tech for Social Impact Team was also unresponsive. This, all coming after months of server issues which were finally fixed on Ticket . We were further advised that we could not get pricing estimates for really anything on Case 2307300040000011. We were told to call 1-855-270-0615 and Sales told us they could not talk to us because we were a nonprofit. For months, Case Number 2210050040005694 which eventually was merged with Case Number 2210080040001133 because the information was "lost" and then re-created as Case Number2210050040005694 languished because of a server side issue. Six (06) months later and over 100+ entries of useless communications including with a dedicated team from Microsoft Tech for Social Impact with a Project Lead and Engineer were to no avail. Billing remained ongoing, though. Finally, on a separate ticket we were advised that it was Microsoft's issue and it had been resolved. For a month, no issues and then yet another upgrade caused a similar issue killing another couple of months. We were appointed a Meet your Microsoft Advisor and Point of Contact whom ghosted us, as well. DESIRED OUTCOME How do we get rid of the Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud while still retaining the licensing for products? Currently, we have and obviously, we would like to keep our licenses below and SharePoint and all things Microsoft 365 like Teams, etc.: Azure AD Premium P1 Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise Edition Microsoft 365 Business Basic Microsoft 365 Business Premium Microsoft Fabric (Free) Microsoft Power Automate Free Nonprofit Portal Power Pages vTrial for Makers Obviously, the D365 Sales Enterprise is going away. We are completely in the cloud and an extremely small, all volunteer nonprofit. So, any suggestions to properly remove all of the Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud, it's billing, etc. would be greatly appreciated! I want to emphasize that in this iteration, there was nothing really wrong with the product. I installed it for our NPO as we opted not to pay the $15,000+ to the Microsoft 'Partner' whom they teamed us up with. I have full access to everything and am the only admin and user. On a transaction rich environment I am seeing inconsistent behaviour and results from the Azure function - yearly giving from Entity, in that transactions that exist for a donor do not result in totals being updated in the 'giving' fields. Some contact records are updated, some are not and there are no errors in the Azure logs for the function. Does anyone know of any specific attributes that are being checked on a transaction that drive this function to work? The image below shows the Year 0 - year 4 totals being zero, when this particular Donor has recurring monthly donations for the last 5 years. Also, the function is supposed to trigger when a transaction is added or updated. It does not. It can take up to 15 minutes to start. Many thanks! Thanks a lot JamesDiscontinuation of M365 Business Premium Grant Deeply Disappointing,Harmful to Small Nonprofits
As a Microsoft CSP partner supporting multiple nonprofit organizations, I am extremely disappointed by the decision to discontinue the Microsoft 365 Business Premium grant. This change disproportionately affects small nonprofits that rely on these tools to fulfill their missions with limited resources. The justification that this is about “alignment” or “sustainability” is disingenuous. Let’s be honest—this is a revenue-driven decision that undermines Microsoft’s long-standing commitment to empowering nonprofits. Removing access to essential tools like Office desktop apps and Intune from the grant program forces small organizations into paid plans they cannot afford, jeopardizing their operations and security. Microsoft has built goodwill in the nonprofit sector over the years. This move erodes that trust. I urge you to reconsider this decision or at least provide a longer transition period and more flexible options for small nonprofits. Please do better. The nonprofit sector deserves more than a corporate cost-cutting maneuver disguised as a strategic realignment.348Views4likes2CommentsPower Pages - Move to Azure App Service?
Hi all, A NonProfit we're helping are developing their website in Power Pages and “want to host it in Azure App Service”, I assume to make better use of grants. I see there are a couple of features in Preview that support some degree of code customization: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/blog/power-pages/creating-new-power-pages-site-in-bootstrap-version-5-2-2-is-now-generally-available/?msockid=3615f43e6e6369710eb4e0466f6268e1 But from what I’ve seen, it’s not possible to export a Power Page to any codebase with full integrated functionality from the Power Pages portal but rather disconnected code snippets. Do we have a Power Pages expert here who might confirm or deny my suspicions and whether this request is feasible at all? Thank you all for reading.319Views0likes1Comment
