Uninstalling Cloud for Nonprofit
With the recent announcement of changes to both Dynamics 365 licensing and Azure credits, some nonprofits (especially small ones who may have installed the solution but aren't using it) are going to need to find alternatives. Perfect example of this: Remove All Aspects Of Microsoft Nonprofit Cloud Fr... - Power Platform Community
Just wondering if anyone has links, resources or experience in removing the 'cost-producing' elements of the solution?
Is it as simple as 'unpurchasing' the Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise licences, deleting the Azure resources and deleting the Power Platform environments? What else is there?
MattBurr The F&E billable Azure resources are connected to your live Azure subscription. You can delete the Azure Resource Group that holds the Azure functions used by Fundraising and Engagement, but please be careful to check that no other needed Azure functions are using that same Resource Group. It is always recommended that a new resource group be created just to host the F&E functions but that is not always the case. If the resource group is being shared you need to remove all of the F&E modules - these are identifiable by virtue of the naming convention you use.
You can pause/cancel the Sales Enterprise license subscription with your CSP (license service provider). Yes, you can delete the environments but you will lose any data that is stored in the Dynamics instances, and this would be unrecoverable.
Hope this helps.
