Guidance Needed: Syncing Appointments Between New Outlook and Web App via Outlook Add-in
Hello Community, I need guidance on syncing appointments between New Outlook and our Web Application. We have an Outlook Add-in where users log in using only their Web Application credentials. When an appointment is created from the add-in, we need it to: Create the appointment in the Web Application (via SOAP API). Create the same appointment in the user's Outlook calendar. Keep updates synchronized in both systems. We previously achieved this using EWS in Classic Outlook, but EWS is not supported in New Outlook. We are now exploring Microsoft Graph API. My understanding is that Graph API requires each Outlook user to be authenticated and authorized before calendar operations can be performed. We have thousands of users across different organizations, and we do not want to require every user to complete a separate Microsoft authentication flow or implement SSO. Is my understanding correct about Microsoft Graph API functioning? If so, what is the recommended approach to create and synchronize Outlook calendar Appointment/Event from a New Outlook web Add-in while minimizing outlook user authentication requirements in Microsoft Graph API? Note: We don't want to suggest every organization (and users in it) to implement SSO now (not sure if this is needed or forced or recommended.), to be able to use the application in Outlook and sync data. So, I am looking for any previous experiences on who this is handled or what can we do differently. Any suggestions or implementation experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. Thanks & Regards, SMResource calendars
I have spent a couple days exploring this feature but I'm still not sure how it works. As a test, I created a new Premium Plan. Schedule mode is set by default to Fixed duration (I'm waiting for my IT dept to allow PM overrides so I can set future Plans to Fixed work or Fixed units.) The test plan has one task with a one-day duration (8 hrs) that I assigned to myself. In Planner Premium, I select the Resource calendars option. Then I go over to Power Apps and pull up the Project app. Inside the app, I open my plan and locate myself as an Active Bookable Resource. I open my Work Hours tab, limit my availability to four hours on the same day that the Planner task is scheduled, and click Save. (I can't enter a fractional capacity number; it apparently has to be "1"). Why doesn't the Planner task automatically adjust to a two-day duration in recognition of the fact that I'm only available for a 1/2 day? If I was guessing, I would say it's because the Plan is set to Fixed duration. But what that effectively means is that by default clicking the Resource calendars box does nothing, as far as I can see, unless the PM is allowed to override the default schedule mode. Is that a true statement? The other thing I'm confused about is whether it's possible to set different availabilities per project. In other words, do the hours I set on the Work Hours tab (incl. capacity setting of "1") apply simultaneously to all Planner Premium projects where I'm assigned? For example, can I not set this up to reflect that I'm available to work on Project A for 4 hours per day and Project B for 3 hours per day? Or Project A on M,W, & F and Project B on T & Th? If that could be configured, assigning me to a 5-hour Thursday task on Project A would cause a duration adjustment or an overallocation flag, or something. I have read about this forthcoming (GA Oct 2026) "Capacity View", but even with that it's not clear that it will recognize capacity of less than one on a given project. If the short answer to these questions is that I'm expecting Planner Premium to do things intended for Dynamics 365 Project Operations, that's fine. But then I just don't understand what this "Resource calendars" option in Planner Premium is supposed to enable unless it's strictly tied to the PM's ability to override fixed duration schedule mode.
Build AI-powered apps without creating a vector database
How do you build AI-powered applications that can reason over enterprise content while maintaining security, compliance, and governance? The latest SharePoint Embedded post explores how the https://devblogs.microsoft.com/microsoft365dev/build-ai-powered-apps-without-creating-a-vector-database?utm_source=social-M365dev can make it easier to ground AI experiences in content stored within customers' Microsoft 365 tenants. We also look at the SharePoint Embedded MCP Server (preview), an open-source developer tool that enables AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code or the CLI, Claude, Cursor, and Azure AI Foundry to help provision, configure, and manage SharePoint Embedded applications using natural language. Together, these capabilities help developers: Ground AI on enterprise content Avoid managing a separate vector database Respect Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls Accelerate development with AI-powered tooling https://devblogs.microsoft.com/microsoft365dev/build-ai-powered-apps-without-creating-a-vector-database?utm_source=social-M365dev to learn how to build the next generation of intelligent, enterprise-ready applications.
license to access Planner Premium from Power Apps
We want to create a Power Apps that connect to those main sources:- 1) SharePoint 2) Premium Planner now i know that connects Power Apps to Premium Planner will make the Power Apps as premium app, and users will need premium power apps license to access it. and also accessing Premium Planner will need atleast Planner Plan1. so what is the minimum license for those 3 groups of users:- 1) normal users will be accessing SharePoint lists only through the Power Apps 2) Admin users will be accessing SharePoint lists and Premium Planner through the Power Apps + Premium Planner through the Premium Planner UI. 3) Senior user will be accessing SharePoint lists and Premium Planner through the Power Apps only. does Planner Plan1 is enough for Senior user? and does Power Apps Premium is enough for admins? Thanks

Please helpSharePoint on-prem issue with OneNotes
Hello guys, have you experienced the same issue? I’m on the Current Channel of M365 desktop apps (build 20026.20182), and the OneNote desktop app is not syncing notebooks from either a SharePoint 2016 on-prem farm or a SharePoint Subscription Edition farm. The OneNote app crashes after 10 seconds while trying to sync. Microsoft OneNote desktop error: We couldn’t open that location. It might not exist, or you might not have permission to open it. (However, I do have sufficient permissions.) It was working perfectly fine on the previous build (20026.20166).
