41 TopicsIntroducing the Microsoft Copilot Copyright Commitment
Summary Today Microsoft shared with you https://aka.ms/CopilotCopyright/announce, a new commitment that extends the existing intellectual property defense obligations to commercial Copilot services, including Dynamics 365 Copilot, Copilot in Power Platform and Microsoft Sales Copilot, and builds on the previous https://blogs.microsoft.com/blog/2023/06/08/announcing-microsofts-ai-customer-commitments/. This means that if a third party sues a commercial customer for copyright infringement for Microsoft’s commercial Copilots, and/or Bing Chat Enterprise or the output the Copilots generate, Microsoft will defend the customer and pay the amount of any adverse judgments or settlements that result from the lawsuit, as long as the customer used the guardrails and content filters built into the products and is not attempting to generate infringing materials. The Microsoft Copilot Copyright Commitment will be effective starting October 1, 2023, and apply to paid versions of Microsoft commercial Copilot services and Bing Chat Enterprise. It will not extend to any free products, custom-built Copilot services, or consumer products or services, even if identified as a Copilot. It will be reflected in a single change to Microsoft’s https://aka.ms/CopilotCopyright/PT, where all applicable conditions will be detailed. Below are the key protections offered by this commitment. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, and the relevant contractual terms will reflect the details. It will be extended to paid versions of Microsoft commercial Copilot services and Bing Chat Enterprise. It will not extend to any free products, custom-built Copilot services, or consumer products or services, even if identified as a Copilot. It covers third-party IP claims based on copyright, patent, trademark, trade secrets, or right of publicity – please refer to the FAQs for more details on the claims covered and exclusions. It covers the customer’s use and distribution of the output content generated by the Copilot services, but not the customer’s input data, modifications of the output content, or uses of output that the customer knows or should know will infringe the rights of others. It requires the customer to use the content filters and other safety systems built into the product and the customer must not attempt to generate infringing materials, including not providing input to a Copilot service that the customer does not have appropriate rights to use. Hello, This is my campaign to bring back the AI Builder Calculator. Since Ignite, the AI Builder calculator at https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/ai-builder-calculator/simply redirects to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/products/power-apps. I feel like this is a misstep. AI Builder looks to be a huge part of Power Automate and Copilot Studio and not giving users a mostly user-friendly way to go about calculating the # of AI Builder credits they will use doesn't seem like the right business decision. As of today, you'd have to know that the rate card is in the Power Platform licensing guide, know how many AI Builder credits you get in a bundle and do the math yourself. The AI Builder calculator did that for you and was an integral part of Microsoft's websites for years. Perhaps another reason this is nonsensical is that AI Builder has much more to do with Power Automate than it does Power Apps, so if you were going to redirect the site, why have it redirect to Power Apps. Please resurrect the AI Builder calculator for the good of the community. -Blake6.5KViews5likes7CommentsAnnouncing new Copilot features in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights

How will existing customers get access to the new demand planning and Copilot capabilities? The new capabilities can be enabled directly from Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management with feature management. The Demand planning app can also be installed from the Power Platform admin center, listed in the ‘Dynamics 365 apps’ under ‘Resources’. How can new customers (customers new to Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management) preview and try the new demand planning and Copilot capabilities? New customers can contact Microsoft to learn more. Microsoft sales teams are also able to demonstrate the solution and initiate a POC with the customer as part of the sales process as next steps. How do these features differ from other supply chain solutions in the market? The new demand planning and Copilot capabilities in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management are part of Microsoft’s ERP portfolio. These new capabilities are available when customers purchase Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. The marketplace for supply chain solutions is crowded with best of breed offerings for demand planning, and Microsoft is not trying to compete with the best of breed vendors. The belief at Microsoft is that ERP systems need to evolve from mere systems of transaction to systems of reasoning, offering their users prescriptive actions that they can take in their functional areas to accelerate growth. This is where the new Copilot and demand planning capabilities play an important role in making Dynamics 365 your system of reasoning compared to other ERP solutions in the market. Are these features new to the market? Or is this a response to competitor offerings? The announced Copilot capabilities are new to the market, and Microsoft is leading the competition on this front. Demand planning is a mature space and Microsoft’s latest innovation in this space is revolutionizing how planners would perform planning by anchoring on flexibility, simplicity, collaboration speed and intelligence. Why is Microsoft ending the preview period for Supply Chain Center? Generative AI and Microsoft Copilot have opened the door for Microsoft to reimagine how workers and employees engage with their everyday tools and workflows. Empowering workers is no longer just about building new workspaces to work from, like control towers or command centers, but rather about how to surface relevant information and enable quicker decision making in the flow of work. Copilot is redefining the art of the possible and with that, Microsoft is setting out to revolutionize how ERP workers engage with technology every day. Given this, Microsoft is ending their preview for Microsoft Supply Chain on October 31, 2023. Going forward, Microsoft will be mainstreaming these data management and integration capabilities into the Microsoft Power Platform, enabling customers and their partners to use the full capabilities of the platform for a wider range of use cases. Without costly development time or rip and replace efforts, organizations can simply point to their data—such as public websites, SharePoint, knowledgebase articles, and offline files—and in a few minutes unlock generative AI-powered conversations across all of their data with out-of-the-box integrations for Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Zendesk. Agents can simply ask Copilot questions in natural language to receive relevant answers that leverage existing contact center knowledge to enhance agent productivity and customer satisfaction. And since Copilot for Microsoft 365 is included in Copilot for Service, organizations will also benefit more broadly from productivity enhancements in the tools agents already use every day, such as Outlook and Teams. Copilot for Service will be available in public preview in early December. General availability is targeted for the first quarter of 2024. Pricing will be $50 per user/month. Summary On August 9, 2023, Microsoft announced the Public Preview of Copilot in Dynamics 365 Field Service. Microsoft’s Copilot capabilities work alongside frontline managers to streamline work order creation, optimize technician scheduling, accelerate responses to customers, and suggest next steps with intelligent recaps. This ultimately optimizes service delivery and speeds up time to resolution. Details Resolving problems the first time, at the right time, is pivotal for field service organizations. Copilot in Dynamics 365 Field Service empowers frontline managers to be efficient and collaborative in their flow of work. Frontline managers who receive service requests or questions via emails can leverage next-generation AI to streamline work order creation directly within Outlook. Copilot pre-populates relevant data, including summaries of customer escalations, into draft work orders for managers to review in their flow of work. Once saved, these work orders automatically sync to Dynamics 365 Field Service as the system of record. A new Dynamics 365 Field Service mobile experience, also in preview starting August 9, will save technician time by cutting down the number of taps for key tasks in half. From changing the status of a booking with a quick swipe, to accessing driving directions to a customer site with one tap, frontline technicians can quickly access needed information on the go. In addition, to help improve first-time fix rates, Dynamics 365 Guides can be embedded in the Field Service mobile app for step-by-step instructions with pictures and videos explaining the immediate task. With the preview of a new Dynamics 365 Field Service app in Microsoft Teams starting August 9, frontline technicians can now see upcoming work orders at-a-glance as Tasks in their Microsoft Viva Connections home experience and can easily drill into details such as location or issue type. Frontline technicians can now share full work order details through cards in Teams and access Remote Assist via their home experience in Teams mobile. This will help to problem solve with remote experts in real time using 3D spatial annotations that lock to the physical world.
