When I opened my onedrive mobile app today the app pushed a message saying that a restart was required. I restarted the app and it told me to set up my personal vault. I've been using my personal vault for several years now so no set up was required. When I logged into my personal vault, all of the files within it were missing. They're available on the online version of onedrive but not in the app version. There's nothing in the recycling bin and there's no recent activity to suggest mass movement/deletion of files. I've restarted the app multiple times, tried with and without wifi, and have tried on different devices - all are showing an empty vault. Has anyone had this problem? Is this a syncing issue or a bug with the new app?2.9KViews11likes17CommentsI can't do Co-authorizing on shared OneDrive file that is on my PC
I shared a folder to a collogue of which she has saved so it is online and also a hardcopy on the computer. When she opens an excel file from the computer, it does not show the Co-authorizing ability. We can track each others activity. I can only see Co-authorizing when she uses the online version. Additionally anytime she makes a change to the PC file, if I have the same file open, her OneDrive immediately has an error and forces her to save as a copy. Please note, if she is using the online file, I can collaborate from the same file from my PC. The issue seems to only occur when we are both using our PC version of the same file. Can anyone help with this. I would like for us to both collaborate from the PC file.Solved45Views0likes1CommentStop "Backup this document" prompt in Office
Every so often when I open a file in Excel or Word (perhaps about one in five), I get a prompt that says "Backup this document to OneDrive". I use Windows11 and Office365. I have every option for OneDrive backup turned off. I have it set for all files stored locally, all folders are off for backup in OneDrive settings. Anytime OneDrive asks me to back something up I dismiss it. How can I turn this nagging prompt off permanently?641Views0likes1CommentLost Recent Version of File From OneDrive
I made steady progress on my maths investigation and at one point I spent 3 hours working on it. I've revisited the file a few days later to find ALL the changes made in the second 2 hours completely gone. There aren't any recovered documents and upon revisiting I noticed Autosave turned OFF despite having the file saved to OneDrive and not manually turning it off. Version history tells me that the last saved change was after the first hour, completely missing out on the subsequent 2 hours of important progress. Is there ANY way to retrieve this (somehow unsaved) work? And if not what caused this?52Views0likes1CommentHow do users default onedrive files to open in microsoft desktop applications.
Nowhere to action this in your browser interface. Selecting files by clicking on them simply opens the files in new browser windows. Setting 'open in app' as default in desktop applications has no effect. We do not want to have to select 'open > in app' on every single microsoft format file in a browser. Tested in latest version of modern browsers Firefox / Chrome / microsoft edge. See attached for visual if unclear192Views0likes3CommentsOneDrive Context Menu Missing on Windows 11
OneDrive Context menu missing Hi guys, I’m having some issues regarding OneDrive and it’s Context Menu not being present on files. Environment: Windows 11 23H2, Intune managed OneDrive Build: 25.005.0112.30003 (64-bit) Affected users: all I tried all the fixes I could find on the Internet, but none have helped. Devices don’t have issues with synchronization, they only have an issue with the Context Menu missing. I can only see Always Keep on this Device and Free Up Space. Even if I press Show More Options, only the same only two previously mentioned appear. Is there anything else which I could have missed? Intune policies – no one seems to control such a thing, the context menu. Is there really not a known fix for this issue? 1. To all, I use MS-ONEDRIVE quite a lot by sending links to my clients to access the architectural plans etc I create for their projects. A few days ago a client e-mailed me noting he couldn't see all the folders in the link I issued to him. I then issued a new shared link to just one folder, which is open showing the content. However, the most odd behaviour, is that the menu at the top with:- Share, Delete, Move to, Copy to, Download, Rename & Embed Version history etc Changes when you click on more than one file to download, i.e. the menu changes to:- Delete, Move to & Copy to So one can't download the complete files at one time & these may be many ! This didn't happen before with MS-ONEDRIVE, so does anyone know whats going on with MS-HQ, is it another glitch that needs correcting ?69Views2likes1CommentOneDrive on Mac: OneDrive folder always opens at startup - How can I stop this?
Hello, I run the latest version of OneDrive (Version 24.132.0701.0001) on a Mac running macOS 14.5. When I start a session, the OneDrive folder always opens. How can I stop this? I want a "silent" run of OneDrive... I couldn't find any option in the preferences for this... By the way, I have the same " issue " with Windows10 and Windows11. (I consider it an issue, but maybe it's not considered an issue by Microsoft...) Many thanks in advance for any help.8.2KViews2likes5Comments
