2952 TopicsInviting Specific People to Channel Meetings (NOT the whole Team)
Hi. I've spent quite a while on various forums looking for a definitive conversation on this, and can't find one. (Or, at least not one I like!) So... Is there any way to invite only a specific set of required and optional people to a Channel Meeting? That is, I want to create and manage the meeting invitation in a standard Channel (because I want the inevitable intra-meeting Chat to reside in the Channel); and I want to invite a working group of people (i.e., the group engaged on the specific meeting topic); and I don't mind if everyone in the Team can or does see that the meeting exists; and indeed I want the meeting results to be visible/accessible to everyone in the Team. BUT I really don't want the meeting invitation and tentative calendar entry to go out to all Team Members. Put one more way, simply: I have lots of Teams with dozens or hundreds of members, and within those Teams we often need to schedule and manage meetings that only require a subset of the Membership to attend. This ability seems so obviously useful to me. Without it, we either (a) use Channel Meetings as designed -- which means we accept the nuisance of inviting many not-particularly-interested people to a meeting, which is noisy and irksome; or (b) use Outlook to schedule (private) Teams meetings -- which forces valuable conversations and records (meeting chat, recordings and posted files) to naturally live outside the relevant Channel, which is horrible when we're trying to break users of a nasty Chat addiction and instead drive all related work inside its designated Channel. So... Is this feature being considered? Scheduled for delivery? Surely I'm far, far from alone in wanting this capability? thanks jhSolved45KViews24likes50CommentsNew Audio-Only Recording Option for Teams Meetings
A new audio-only recording option for Teams meeting suppresses the video feed from meeting participants to generate the MP4 file for the meeting recording. The idea is to better preserve user privacy during recording playbacks. Few will miss the video stream because the audio is usually more important. The audio is also the basis for the meeting transcript, and that leads to AI-generated outputs like meetings summaries and action items. https://office365itpros.com/2025/10/20/audio-only-recording-teams/652Views0likes3CommentsHow do I record videos on Teams using a personal account?
I only have a personal Teams account (no company subscription) and want to schedule a Teams meeting with a friend so she can teach me Excel pivot table techniques. However, I can't find the "Start Recording" button in the meeting settings. Now, I got that recording is only available for subscribers. If a free account can't record from the cloud or locally, what screen recording solution do you usually use to ensure clear video? And I need to record both system audio and webcam picture-in-picture. Thanks in advance for any advice!42Views0likes1CommentMS Teams Meeting - Get Meeting Participants From Graph API
Hi, I’m looking to retrieve the participants of a meeting using the Microsoft Graph API. Currently, I use the calendarView API to obtain details of the meeting from a user's calendar. However, if a new participant is added during the meeting, I want to be able to see the updated list of attendees. I've tried using the onlineMeetings API with the endpoint onlineMeetings/{meetingId}, but this only provides details of the participants who were part of the scheduled meeting (basically participants present in the meeting in user's calendar). It doesn’t reflect any additions or removals of participants that occur during the call. I also explored the chats API with the endpoint https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/me/chats/19:meeting_Oxxx1@thread.v2/members, which gives me the current members of the meeting chat, but I need to get the list of participants present in the meeting. Is there another method to get a list of all participants in a meeting? I'm trying to join a Teams Meeting with a bot. I used this https://microsoftgraph.github.io/microsoft-graph-comms-samples/docs/articles/index.html#making-an-outbound-call-to-join-an-existing-microsoft-teams-meeting sample. When the bot attempts to join I get the popup to admit or deny it in the meeting, but as soon as I click admit, it drops. In the logs I see this message: Call status updated to Terminated - Did not receive valid response for JoinCall request from call modality controller.. DiagCode: 580#5426.@ I am using the latest (1.2.0.10563 at time of writing) version of Microsoft.Graph.Communications libraries and the problem only started after I updated from 1.2.0.3742 that I was using previously. I could not find any info on what the call modality controller is, or how to check what it is responding if anything. Any ideas on how to troublshoot this are welcome.1.3KViews2likes12CommentsTeams App Error After 60 Seconds: "There was a problem reaching this app"
Problem My Teams tab app loads and works perfectly fine, but after exactly ~60 seconds, it shows this error screen: "There was a problem reaching this app" with a Retry button (Screenshot attached) Setup Teams Personal & Meeting tabs Node.js backend on Azure Azure AD authentication Multi-tenant app What I've Checked ✅ No errors in browser console ✅ No errors in server logs ✅ All API calls complete successfully ✅ Teams SDK initializes without errors ✅ Authentication tokens are valid ✅ App works fine locally - only happens in production The Strange Part The app functions normally during those 60 seconds. Everything loads, authentication works, API calls succeed. Then suddenly this error appears. The 60-second timing seems too consistent to be coincidental - suggests some kind of timeout. Question Has anyone seen this before? Is there a Teams SDK timeout or callback I'm missing? Should I be calling some kind of notifySuccess() or similar after initialization? Any suggestions on what could cause a delayed error like this would be appreciated!52Views0likes0CommentsRecording meeting doesn't work with animations
I recently discovered utilizing animations and presenting PowerPoint live mode is not capturing the animations. In other words, each slide is being recorded as if there is no animations applied. This is not good since we want to phase in the content from the slide. Update/clarification - turns out the recording of the meeting, if using any other format - Presenter Modes for example, does capture the animations on the slides. It is only when attempting to record the meeting while the Presenter has selected PowerPoint live is when the animations are not captured in the recorded file - participants within the meeting are able to see the animations as they occur - but recorded viewers will not. Just wanted to share the "work around". Thanks!7.5KViews4likes7CommentsOverview of Copilot solutions and Key Benefits

Good morning I have set up a team with several internal and external contacts. I have created a reoccurring meeting for the team. If the team members change (a contact added or removed) will the meeting adjust accordingly? IE will those removed from the team be removed from the meeting and those added to the team - will they receive a meeting invitation? Thanks in advance115Views0likes1Comment
