Windows Servers Uptime Report using PowerShell
Hi Folks, A customer has mix of Windows servers (2012, 2016, 2019) on-premises environment. Customer needs to generate a report via PowerShell about the availability of servers. During my search I found a script on this link and its modified version is attached. Please note, this script reads windows events and based on that produces result. There is a problem where I need help, this script doesn't run against list of servers via a CSV file or a text file and we suspect it is not producing correct result. Can somebody please review this script and help us with the right syntax or what is missing here? Thanks in advance.
Missing a GPO setting for Notifications
I'm looking for GPO setting that will prevent our users from turning off Notifications. The requirement is that notifications are Enabled and the user cannot turn this off. At the moment they can turn it on and off at will and I cannot find a setting to prevent this. the only one I have found is to turn it off [Turn off toast notifications] which is not desired. Am I missing something or does this need to be a feature request?
WuFB GPO options missing
I'm running into a problem where the Windows Update for Business options do not appear under Windows Update in the GPME. I just installed the Windows 11 24H2 ADMX files today on our Central Store but still don't see them. DNS Issue
Server 2019 client Windows 11 A client workstation has 4 DNS servers we expect to work in a "round robin". The servers are: accounting research dev admin The systems we are trying to access exist in the DNS server DEV. When we run NSLOOKUP and set the DNS server to DEV, we are able to look up the systems we are trying to access. When we exit NSLOOKUP and try to ping or access a system through its web portal, the system doesn't recognize the name. Any ideas? Thanks!Lifecycle Management of Winget Package identifier
Can someone point me in the right direction for the answer to the question about the lifecycle management of Winget package identifiers? The question is whether an ID that was in use can ever be reused if the original package no longer exists, and whether it is theoretically possible that a completely different app would be installed on a system via an update function, in case a new app is registered with the same id?
My desktop stuck at windows logo after bios update.
I updated my bios. After update my bios, My desktop stuck at windows logo. It doesn't have spinning dots. Only windows logo. My desktop ryzen 5 5600x B550M mortar max wifi rtx 3060ti 32gb ram I used method of use mountvol command, but I don't know it can be problem. What did I try CSM Enable/Disable Enable/Disable Secure boot Change boot order Restore system Roll back bios version Bios version what i tried 7C94v1K 7C94v1J 7C94v1I 7C94v1C (Version what before update bios) I can boot in safe mode. Help me please.
Gpresult /H and GPMC settings view do not match RSOP.
I am having an issue where I have a couple of GPO settings on a win 11 device not showing in a gpresult /h but they do show in an rsop. I have seen this in the past on a few occasions but never really gave it much thought and just assumed it was something lacking in gpresult as html. I have verified running gpresult /v on the system shows the missing settings and matching rsop so I am confident that the settings are being applied but I am not finding any other examples online of this situation. I also noticed that the settings do not display in the gpmc settings tab on the GPO with the settings but I have of course verified they exist in GPME after right clicking and editing the appropriate GPO. This post is to hopefully find some sort of Microsoft or community backing in my thought process that this is simply the html lacking compatibility to show some extended settings or I am completely open minded to a separate explanation of what is happening. Thanks in advance for any help!
June 2024 Enterprise version of Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant has expired
We're in the middle of migrating several thousand PCs from older Office versions to M365 Apps for Enterprise and are using the enterprise SaRA tool to remove Office. The current posted version of the Enterprise SaRA tool has expired and a new version has not been posted as of Sept 20, 2024. Hi everyone, if anyone is looking for volume licensing downloads, keys etc. there's a significant change. While most Windows devices out there are licensed through OEM nowaways there are exceptions for upgrade licenses such as Windows Enterprise or other SKUs that may be part of Volume Licensing.
