My iPhone screen not responding to touch after restart, any suggestion?
My iPhone screen has recently stopped responding to touch. No matter how I click, it doesn't respond. Restarting doesn't work. It feels like it's "frozen". I'm using a Windows 11 laptop. I tried restoring it with iTunes, but it just wouldn't connect. The phone is completely unresponsive, as if it's in a "silent abyss". Has anyone encountered a similar situation and knows how to solve this problem? Now my phone has become a decoration. It's really urgent. Please help!
I get how annoying that is!
Try Fixppo: https://www.applettop.com/iphone-screen-not-responding-to-touch
It can fix frozen iPhones without data loss, way easier than dealing with iTunes.

I had similar issues with my iPhone 13 and went to the Apple store to try to fix it, ended up waiting for hours and they couldn't fix it. Not only did the phone frequently overheat, the screen went black, and now my iPhone screen was unresponsive for two days. The worst part is that I have work to do on my phone and it's totally unusable right now.
I tried to force restart by pressing the volume and power buttons, and thought it would work after seeing the Apple logo, but it still worked after restarting. I can't even make calls with the iPad, it always says to disconnect the phone. Siri can't shut down the phone because it's PIN protected. I really think Apple should be held responsible for this, especially since the problem only started after the update. Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Is there any solution?

Open iTunes and press the Power button for 3 seconds, then immediately press the Volume Down button for 10 seconds. Release the Power button, but keep holding the Volume Down button for another 10 seconds. This will put your iPhone in DFU mode. If iTunes recognizes your device in recovery mode, you can try restoring it.
Sometimes, recalibrating the touchscreen can help resolve issues. To do this, press and hold the Power button until the "Power Off" slider appears. Slide the slider to the right to turn off your iPhone. Press and hold the Power button again until the Apple logo appears. This will restart your iPhone with the touchscreen recalibrated. - OliverWangCopper Contributor
DO NOT download iOS 17 update 3! My iPhone screen not responding to touch after upgrade, just came back from the Apple store... they wasted 3 hours and half a day's work! What's even more annoying is that they refused to replace or repair my phone even though it was totally fine and there was no damage. They said it was the phone itself and asked me to pay $329 or go through the carrier. The most annoying thing is that they took no responsibility for the problems caused by this software update.
Fortunately, after about 50 hard resets, I finally got the screen back to normal after returning home. It was such a hassle that I will never update the system again! Has anyone else encountered similar problems? How can Apple not be responsible for this kind of problem?

BenjaminLiu When cleaning the iPhone screen, lightly dampen one corner of the microfiber cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Make sure the cloth is not too wet to avoid moisture getting into the device. In addition, If you used a damp cloth, take a dry part of the microfiber cloth and wipe the screen again to ensure it's completely dry.
If iPhone screen is unresponsive after cleaning, try a hard reset (as previously described) or consider checking for software updates. There might be a hardware problem, and seeking professional assistance would be advisable.

I just updated my iPhone 11 to iOS 17.1.1 and everything started working fine, but a few minutes later, I suddenly noticed that the iPhone Touch Screen not working and the touch screen was completely unresponsive. I tried a hard reset and it didn't work, the problem still exists. I feel like this is most likely a bug caused by the system update, and Apple needs to fix this as soon as possible. I wonder if anyone else has encountered a similar situation? Or is there any temporary solution I can try? Hopefully this is just a minor issue, otherwise it's a real hassle.

If your iPhone screen is not responding to touch, it may be that the system has crashed. At this time, you can try to enter recovery mode to repair it. Although you said that iTunes cannot connect to the phone, you can try another data cable or USB port again. The way to enter recovery mode is: turn off the phone first, then press and hold the power button and volume down button until you see the icon to connect to iTunes. At this time, plug the phone into the computer, open iTunes, and see if it can recognize the phone.
If it can be recognized, you can try to restore the system to see if the touch failure problem can be solved. This method is sometimes really effective and worth a try!

iPhone screen not responding to touch? Try a forced restart by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds. This will force your iPhone to shut down and may resolve the issue. You can also go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch and switch off "Touchscreen" or "Accessibility Shortcut" (if available). This might help reset the touchscreen functionality.

This method DOES NOT WORK in 2025 (it gives you the "Slide to power off" screen, which doesn't help if you can't move the slider). Instead:
1. Press and release the Volume Up button2. Press and release the Volume Down button
3. Press and hold the Power On/Off button for a long time.

I also tried this forced restart operation, but I pressed it many times before I saw the Apple logo reappear, and the problem was still not solved, and the screen was still unresponsive. As for turning off the "touch screen" or "accessibility shortcut keys", I haven't tried it yet. Have you ever used this method successfully? I feel that if it is a system bug, this little trick may have limited effect, right?
