The i7-7700K meet the minimun requierments to run Win11. But its not suported, Why?
We are in the same boat as so many others are. Microsoft should add the Corei7-7700k processor to the supported group of processors for Windows 11. It's only a 4 year old custom pc costing thousands of dollars and runs extremely well and we have several of them. We will not replace them because Microsoft says so. We will also delay all new PC purchases for our company choosing to remain on Windows 10 including not recommending Windows 11 to our clients. Microsoft has not provided any explanation let alone an acceptable one for their actions and the Windows 11 testers confirm that it runs just fine with Windows 11. Jeronimo2440

- SixpieceOct 18, 2021Iron ContributorI hope you enjoy it. Although the M1 is a System on Chip and has bus advantages this way it is still in large respect similar to an 11th generation i3 that is much less expensive from Intel/Asus (i3 and motherboard combination but a i7 is worth a lot more even by Mac standards they charge 5000$ for an i7 Mac book pro somewhat loaded) . Also the i7 7700k is from 2017, I am not sure that an Apple computer from 2017 can necessarily run the latest Big Sur but it probably could but at some point the latest OS, they can run becomes Catalina, maybe for 2016, High Sierra, etc.. You will be back soon… bye for now, we will miss you and we hope we will see you again soon… I hope you are happy with your Apple… the iPad is not competition because Microsoft is barely in any form of tablet market. Microsoft IOT failed and the alternatives to tablets by Microsoft really haven’t taken off.

have 2 MacBook Pro's with 7700HQ running Monterey and BigSur wasn't as big deal as I worried... BigSur ran a lot better than Catalina
have VMware Fusion 12 on both and that's my dead-end with WIn-11 so I guess I'll need to eventually drop WIndows apps for the apps I haven't wanted to buy for Mac or just am used to, and look to Linux more deeply.
