Re: Locked out from O365 admin account
Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you've been locked out of your tenant due to MFA. Based on my experience as a Microsoft Data Protection Engineer, I can assure you that this issue can be resolved through Microsoft Support, as they have the ability to reset MFA settings for you. If you're the sole Global Administrator for the tenant, you'll need to contact Microsoft Support directly via their hotline. They can initiate a support ticket on your behalf and escalate the case to the Data Protection team for resolution. Hi Tizard_Bates , I recorded a quick video that walks through your exact situation. If you’re the only global admin and locked out, unfortunately the only way forward is to reach out to Microsoft Support ... either by having someone with an active Microsoft 365 account open a ticket on your behalf (with your contact details) or by calling Microsoft support directly. They’ll escalate to the Data Protection Team, who will verify your identity and help you regain access. In the video, I also show how to set up a free backup admin account so this situation doesn’t happen again in the future. 🎥 Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/K1-p7DsZfjc Hope this helps and wishing you a quick resolution. Hi Steve, I’m sorry to hear you’re having such a difficult time getting your case escalated. I can help troubleshoot the issue with you and possibly find a faster resolution. Could you please share more details about the specific problem you are facing with your Office 365 account? For example: - Which service is affected (email, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.) - Any error messages or codes you are seeing - What steps you’ve already tried With that information, I can suggest targeted fixes, walk you through PowerShell commands if needed, or help prepare the exact technical details you can give to Microsoft to get past the automation wall. Hi Kris You can definitely move back to the basic mailboxes and still keep your domain. The key is to first migrate and back up your data, then release the domain from Microsoft 365 before Combell can reconfigure it. High-Level Steps Identify and Back Up Data List all mailboxes and shared mailboxes Back up emails, OneDrive, and any other data Prepare Domain for Removal in Microsoft 365 Change all accounts to the .onmicrosoft.com address Remove the custom domain from all services and groups Remove Domain from Microsoft 365 Tenant Use the Admin Center to detach the domain once it’s no longer in use Update DNS to Point Back to Combell / or wherever you want Remove Microsoft 365 DNS records Add Combell’s basic email DNS records Restore Data and Test Import backed-up emails into Combell mailboxes Confirm email flow and access Once the domain is fully removed from Microsoft 365 and DNS is updated, Combell can activate your basic mail service again. If you tried resetting and it doesn't help, you can try unlinking the pc from onedrive and deleting files, Then uninstall onedrive and reinstall it and start the process again, This will help remove any cached data and redownload all your files "on demand" without any issues Best Ahmed Masoud Linkedin495Views0likes0CommentsRe: Performance Issues with Outlook When Delegating Large Mailboxes (Exchange Online)
You can disable auto mapping with the Download shared folders disabled Add-MailboxPermission -Identity email address removed for privacy reasons -User email address removed for privacy reasons -AccessRights FullAccess -AutoMapping:$false This will keep the primary mailbox in cached mode, and additional mailboxes in online mode Best Ahmed Masoud Linkedin300Views0likes0CommentsRe: How to manage other people's files on onedrive
You can manage the user files by going through the steps below: Go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center Navigate to: Users > Active Users > [Select User] In their profile, under OneDrive, click Create link to files This will give you access to their OneDrive as an admin — it opens in a browser and you can manage the access of the files Also you can manage the external sharing from the same place. Try to Use View-Only or Restricted Edit Links when sharing files Uncheck "Allow recipients to share" in the link settings For full control, use Manage Access to customize permissions or go through SharePoint advanced permissions If you're an admin, enforce it organization-wide via the SharePoint Admin Center Best, Ahmed Masoud LinkedIn53Views0likes0Comments
