Validate MS Teams External Federation
Hello Everyone,
Hope every one is doing well.
In My current process , Some End users knows the external domain IT Team contact email address and end user are approaching us to add the external domain in the federation list .so as IT admin
We have added your domain xyz.com in our teams external access and however we could not reach you over MS Teams ( They may be use ISLAND MODE)
We need you help to setup our domains at your IM environment and let your Instant Messaging (SFB) environment to do the auto discover our domains ABC.com
However, there are many end users are not knowing the external contact email address and they are asking us to validate the domain to make them work
currently once we know the External IT contact we do the NSLOOKUP , set type=all
sip xyz.com
lyncdiscover.xyz.com
To know the external IT is using Teamsonline mode for Other Co-existence mode
_sipfederationtls.tcp.xyz.com
etc
So my concern is , There are many domains added in our fed list, before i came to this ORG, how can i validate whether this external domain are working with external or not. without knowing other side email address, or IT contact of them .

The only way to validate the external domain is working or not you will have to test it with one user with the SIP/Email address and check if you are able to see the presence and test the IM conversation. Services will only work if the federation is same on both the end.

Satish U- Thanks Satish . But the challenging the part is we didn't know the few of the external email address / SIP to validate the domain, which is already added in external access. I can say its kind of clean up task to remove the unwanted domains which is not working the federation services
