Team member's keyboard layout is wrongly interpreted during screen sharing with giving control
I have Office365 Business Premium and I am using Microsoft Teams for educational work. During Teams meetings, I share my screen & give control to my pupils, so they can manipulate the application and type answers to questions (e.g. in Powerpoint).
I live in Belgium and my keyboard layout is Dutch (Belgium), the letters on the keyboard start as AZERTY.
During the "give control" screen sharing session, when the team member types (remotely from his PC), the keyboard layout is always incorrectly interpreted as English, thus an A becomes a Q, the Z becomes W, etc (QWERTY instead of AZERTY). This is very disturbing for my pupils and myself and distorts the user experience.
I have tried different methods of resolution, such as changing the option 'keyboard language overrides keyboard shortcuts' on the other user's Teams client to France, but that doesn't change anything (there are limited choices in that pick list); when the other user types A this is interpreted as Q.
I have also logged in to the Sharepoint Online associated with my Office 365 and I have set the default language there to Dutch (Belgium) with no effect.
I am using the latest version of Teams on iMac with MacOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra).
How can this be resolved? Please help.

- Be_FaCopper ContributorI have the same problem with US layout and the person who is sharing the screen uses German layout. It seems like in give control the keyboard scancode is transmitted instead of the actual character typed. Is there any known workaround?

Many thanks in advance,

I opened a support case at MS (via our company) and they said, this will not be fixed.
(Not sure if I am allowed to share more details here...)

veerlestroobant I have the same issue working in RPD with a Macbook to a PC and the accents are screwed up because of a keyboard config misinterpretation.

Hi,
we have the same Issue with all our Coworkers even when all systems run the same language/keyboard layout.
It's also not a standard layout it changes to because we are unable to have certain Letters or Symbols which are on any and all keyboard layouts and some strange ones that are not on all keyboard layouts are still there like üöäß but on wrong keys
We run Microsoft Teams on Mac and requesting control over Windows and Mac machines - all with the same keyboard layout / locale issue disregarding OS Language/Client language/ Teams settings
