Microsoft Teams new file experience
Hi.
I have got access to the new file experience in Teams but can't seem to edit metadata straight from the Teams Client or the browser, I need to open the SharePoint library for this.
Is this by design and when can we expect this to be addressed?
This actually brings more frustration than it helps!

I've been literally waiting for this for over 7 months promising my client that metadata would show up in Teams in the "near future" but I am astounded that you can't edit metadata in Teams. What's the point of showing them in Teams if you can't maintain them!?
This seems like something a scummy contractor would pull... "Oh, you wanna be able to CHANGE metadata in Teams? That's gonna cost ya!"

We're having this same experience too, since the ability to modify metadata is fundamental to our staff when using document libraries.
Is there any particular reason this isn't included by design? Metadata is a big part of document libraries, I find it strange this has been left out. Is there anything on the roadmap for implementing metadata editing within Microsoft Teams?
adam deltinger thank you for your reply. Hopefully they will fix this in the future. As of right now it will mostly be of annoyance using required metadata fields in Teams when they can't even edit it from there. Not very user friendly.
