Microsoft Teams mouse control and request control not available for some users

Copper Contributor

Hi guys

We are using Microsoft Team to connect with multiple clients from different companies. With most attendees we can give them mouse control and they can request it however, in the same meeting, some of them will not appear on the drop down and they will not have the option to request control either. What is this happening?

They are either a. Joining via web browser which does not support take control / give control. Or B. Joining the meeting anonymously/ from another tenant. Pretty sure you must be a guest of the tenant hosting the meeting and switched to that tenant in order to request control.
It might be that guests can’t and external users can. I can’t remember been awhile. One way or the other cannot share the screens. Might find out how the person is connected to the meeting then you’ll know why. Anon / as guest / as external user and if they are using browser or desktop client.
