Change Default Expiration Time for Recording & transcription in Microsoft Teams

Copper Contributor

Teams Meeting Recordings has a default expiration of 60 days.  However, as an admin, I want to modify this setting and set a different expiration timeline. How do i go about it?

Solution
To Change default expiration time for TMR, do the following:
1. Log in to Microsoft Teams admin center.
2. Click the Meetings drop-down button.
3. Select Meeting Policies.
4. Click Add.
5. Go to the Recording & transcription section.
6. Turn off the ‘Meetings automatically expire’ toggle
7. Or you can Set a specific number of default days.

@yubzy
As of Feb 2022, the default expiration date changed from 60 to 120 days.
If you want to change the new default setting, Ayuba123 instructions are still good.

@Ayuba123 Does this apply to existing meetings or new ones only ?
