Change Default Expiration Time for Recording & transcription in Microsoft Teams
Teams Meeting Recordings has a default expiration of 60 days. However, as an admin, I want to modify this setting and set a different expiration timeline. How do i go about it?
- To Change default expiration time for TMR, do the following:
1. Log in to Microsoft Teams admin center.
2. Click the Meetings drop-down button.
3. Select Meeting Policies.
4. Click Add.
5. Go to the Recording & transcription section.
6. Turn off the ‘Meetings automatically expire’ toggle
7. Or you can Set a specific number of default days.

As of Feb 2022, the default expiration date changed from 60 to 120 days.
If you want to change the new default setting, Ayuba123 instructions are still good.- Ayuba123Copper ContributorTo Change default expiration time for TMR, do the following:
