Using Google Calendar as Default Calendar in Outlook 365 #Frustration

Copper Contributor

Background: Whenever I open "ical" or "ICS" calendar files, my Outlook 365 automatically adds them to the "local" calendar instead of my preferred Google Calendar. This has been a source of frustration for me as it requires me to manually drag and drop the events over onto my Google Calendar.

Question: Is there is a way to modify the settings in Outlook 365 to ensure that all calendar files I open are directly added to my Google Calendar by default - no questions asked?

Not sure you are saying on PC? If yes:

Go to Windows Settings --> Apps --> Default Apps
Scroll down to the bottom and click on <Choose Default Apps by File Type>
Scroll down until you see .ics --> Select which APP as the default app

@Kidd_Ip So it opens okay in Outlook - it's just adding the appointment into the "local" (default) calendar in Outlook 365 and I can't seem to find a way to make the appointment get saved into my Google calendar. Hope this clarifies things. -TB
