changing the background of the landing page on office 365 as a admin

Hi All, 

I have an A1 license. I want to change the background of the landing page is this possible? 

By landing page I mean the screenshot above?

Yes you can change this for all users from the Admin Center.  Go to Settings > Org Settings > Organization profile > Custom Themes.  You will see the following options to change your themes settings including the background.

Does this not just change the banner? rather than the background?  

Also where does the logo image appear if I add one?

No, that will indeed change the background.  Further down the same page (next item in fact) is to change the banner (or navigation bar as it is labelled.

Logo appears at the top left of the page.

When I change the background to the requested pixels 1366 x 50 this squashes it down to a banner look?

ahah fair enough @PeterRising 

why is it that I cant get a Jpeg to upload only JPG but cant seem to convert it to one. Changing the name doesnt work. If I do PNG I cant get the Kb less than 15! 

Any ideas?
