Excel - Project Tracking Chart
Hi! I'm attempting to put together a project tracking chart for my business and I'm computer suave but not so much on Excel. What I'm basically trying to put together is a week by week flow that has a current % associated with "Real Time" (As the actual project is moving) and a projection timeline (As the project should be moving). That may not make the best sense so I'll try to put it into better perspective.
Project Name I Week 1 I Week 2 I Week 3 I ETC.
Projection 0% 5% 10% - So say our standard project is 90 days, the running projection would be based on a Settlement amount blended with those 90 days or X amount of weeks to pop out a running projection.
Job Actual 0% 10% 20% - Now with the job actual, I would need to figure out how to run an equation, based of Settlement amount that basically divides .
And now I'm basically confused again. Let me know if someone can help!!!

dbowman2110A week by week tracking would pose problem since all projects may not require the same number of weeks. Standard project days is also a variable which will depend on the complexity of the project you are doing. So, I would suggest a table based progress or amount settled.
Something like the attached document could help. The white cells are for your manual entry, while the greyed ones are calculated values.
If you are using this method, then you need to define what would happen when project timeline is crossed.

This was just an example that I sent you in the file.
An example to get an approach on how to do it.
Commissioned work, so to do the whole thing I don't do it.
Here you can get help to help yourself, you would have to do the project yourself.
In this link that I sent you before you will find several examples that might fit your project better.
Furthermore, I wish you much success with Excel in your project.
Thank you for your understanding and patience

This Gantt chart Excel template makes for a perfect project planner, allowing you to track and synchronize the activities of a project. Based on the long-standing Gantt chart model, this project planning template in Excel uses a simple visual representation to show how a project will be managed over time. You can enter the start dates, duration, and current status of each task and share them with your team to keep task owners accountable. This Excel Gantt chart template can accommodate both large and small projects for both short and longer time periods.
This is an accessible template...see insert file...or download from the upper link.
Hope I was able to help you with this info.
