Your feedback is important to us. We’d love it if you could answer 3 quick questions
  • Is there a chance to use Windows Backup for Organizations for certain set of devices, or does it apply to the entire organization only?

The Windows Backup policy can be configured to target set of devices or users. The Windows Restore policy on the Enrollment page is applied to the entire tenant. The Windows Restore policy on the Settings catalog can be device targeted though (note: this will only apply to the Restore experience during first sign-in). For detailed configuration, please refer to Windows Backup for Organizations Overview | Microsoft Learn

        Hello Yiman,

Thanks for your answer! I'll have a look at the Microsoft Learn article.

Last question: Does Windows Backup for Organization have additional cost, or it is already part of the E3/E5 license and no extra cost added if used?

Will the Feature Update get applied during autopilot pre-provisioning?

Joe_Lurie I apologize, I said feature updates, but I meant Quality Updates, as demonstrated in the video. If a device is pre-provisioned, will the Quality update get applied during the pre-provisioning process or after the user signs in for the first time?

How would the restore process look like when the Device was Pre-provisioned?

Backup for Organizations backs up the Windows Store app list. Does this include Available apps users have installed from Company Portal?

If the available apps were installed through the Microsoft Store, then yes, the feature will backup and restore those apps.

Thank you. To clarify, do you mean Microsoft Store app (new) apps in Intune set as Available to users, and where users have elected to install these via Company Portal, will be installed when restoring the backup, but others will not, or is it that apps must have been installed directly via the Microsoft Store app?

If the former, is the management state maintained post-restore, or does it become an unmanaged install?
