Any ways to have feature update install right away (like we can in sccm) and not have to wait hours/days for the update agent to decide that's it's time to start the installation after having create the update deployment?

This is a blocker to fully move to WUFB/AP

We would like not to have to wait for the mentioned 8hours for the install to start, but rather that it stars in minutes, like it does in sccm or on Intune MacOS managed devices with the new DDM support.

How do you recommend that we transition from Cloud update (config.office.com) to Autopatch for Office patches?

Hi is there a way to mitigate or control the reboots of extension drivers so not to have random reboots because devices get those driver updates in an uncontrolled manner when using wufb driver updates.

    thks

We are looking to move to Autopatch for Windows updates.  Currently we have multiple rings set up.  If we move to autopatch, our plan would be to have a Test ring, then all devices with dynamic percentages, then a last ring.  My question is if we had some users in the last ring, would it know that and save those users for last, even though all though the all-devices dynamic rings would normally be updated before last?  Would it know which devices were in the last ring and skip those on the all-devices dynamic rings?

The logic that's used by Autopatch Groups to add devices to the Entra Group for each ring is:

      1. If a device group is directly assigned to a ring, devices in that ring are added to that group and won't be dynamically distributed.
      2. When device groups are added for dynamic distribution, they get scanned hourly and any devices which aren't directly assigned are distributed into the rings.

User groups are not supported with dynamic distribution in Autopatch Groups.

Thanks Chris.  That clarifies exactly what we were wondering about!

Can Microsoft start focusing on stability and resolving ongoing issues with Windows 11 and Microsoft products? AI is great and all I guess, but what good is it when Start Menu doesn't load, crashes, Bitlocker recovery prompts, Azure/M365/ admin center outages.

      Hi BlueSakura,

This is a bit of a loaded question but I'll do my best to answer. Quality and stability are always our top priority. I understand that issues can cause a lot of frustration and that they can be very disruptive. In general, we are able to resolve most issue very quickly once we have sufficient information on them which generally requires customers to open support tickets, so please make sure that as you encounter issues to open a support ticket. There are a variety of reasons why issues may unfortunately make it to an end-user or organization so I can't specifically address any one specifically other than to say we have many processes in place to prevent this (and as noted, quickly correct in the unfortunate case where issues do make it out the door).

I have seen some information about an upcoming CVE dashboard for Windows Autopatch.  What all will be needed to have access to that?  Is Windows Defender agent required?

Will we be getting KB level reporting soon? Seeing exact KB updates per device, failed updates etc.

Hi tom_BPC, can you please expand on exactly what you are asking for here? For Windows Updates, the most granular update that is typically installed is the monthly cumulative update. Are you looking for more granularity than this? If so, that doesn't exist because there is no additional granularity possible since we don't normally release anything more granular that the monthly cumulative updates. This has been the standard since the release of Windows 10. Can you please add some more details here if I'm missing what you are asking for?
