We are looking to move to Autopatch for Windows updates. Currently we have multiple rings set up. If we move to autopatch, our plan would be to have a Test ring, then all devices with dynamic percentages, then a last ring. My question is if we had some users in the last ring, would it know that and save those users for last, even though all though the all-devices dynamic rings would normally be updated before last? Would it know which devices were in the last ring and skip those on the all-devices dynamic rings?

Microsoft
The logic that's used by Autopatch Groups to add devices to the Entra Group for each ring is:
- If a device group is directly assigned to a ring, devices in that ring are added to that group and won't be dynamically distributed.
- When device groups are added for dynamic distribution, they get scanned hourly and any devices which aren't directly assigned are distributed into the rings.
User groups are not supported with dynamic distribution in Autopatch Groups.

Thanks Chris. That clarifies exactly what we were wondering about!
