The logic that's used by Autopatch Groups to add devices to the Entra Group for each ring is: 

1. If a device group is directly assigned to a ring, devices in that ring are added to that group and won't be dynamically distributed. 
2. When device groups are added for dynamic distribution, they get scanned hourly and any devices which aren't directly assigned are distributed into the rings. 

User groups are not supported with dynamic distribution in Autopatch Groups.
