- mscarinacBrass ContributorI'm reading in this thread that there is a required purchase of a minimum count of 300 licenses is this accurate?
- GabeHoIron ContributorHey Carina, that's right as part of our availability for enterprise customers with an E3 or E5 license from Nov 1.
- mscarinacBrass ContributorCopilot has released availability to Enterprise users on 11/1, correct?
- DanNarlochIron ContributorHi Carina, Yes. Copilot in Windows is generally available to Enterprise users. Please refer to our release blog announcement here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2023/09/21/announcing-microsoft-365-copilot-general-availability-and-microsoft-365-chat/
- PurviancejCopper ContributorCarina, unfortunately you are being given inaccurate information. It is only available to enterprise customers with 300+ users. Making it NOT GA for enterprise customers. They keep saying here it is GA but leave out the 300 user minimum part, you also have to get permission from your account manager of your use case and if they deem you worthy you are in for the low low price of $100k minimum a year.

I heard that that M365 Copilot deletes every prompt right after providing the answer in order to stay compliant and not feed the LLM with company data. Thus M365 Copilot always provides new answers / never generates the exact same response. I only received this information orally but could not find it in any of the MSFT official written docs. Could you please provide this information written or send the link. Thanks!
- ScottSchnollBronze ContributorCopilot does not delete prompts; in fact, Copilot interactions are stored within a hidden folder in the user's Exchange mailbox. In addition, retention policies and eDiscovery search can be used against them. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/retention-policies-copilot for more info.
- NatPorBrass Contributor
Thank you ScottSchnoll very helpful link. Thus the LLM actually is learning from the old prompts or is this hidden folder preventing it from learning? In other words how does MSFT guarantee that the LLM is not using company sensitive data which is included in the prompts?

Welcome to the Microsoft 365 Copilot Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA)! This live hour gives you the opportunity to ask questions directly to the Microsoft team. Please post any questions in a separate, new comment thread on this event.
We also would like you to know that we thank you for you strong interest in Copilot for Microsoft 365. We acknowledge the disappointment about last week's GA news. Ahead of enterprise GA, we had a chance to learn from and co-create with our early access enterprise customers. In September, we expanded the early access program to do the same with small businesses and entrepreneurs. This testing allows us to gather real-life feedback and fine-tune the product experience for their unique needs. We'll have more to share on broader availability for small businesses in the coming months.
- JPRdyNetBrass ContributorHi Sarah. It is disappointing to hear that we cannot receive any additional guidance now on the SMB market availability question. Our customers are clamoring for 365 Copilot (which is a good thing!), yet we are unable to tell them what calendar quarter they will be able to purchase or if there will be a minimum number of licenses. In lieu of that, we minimally expect to know when these questions will be answered. "In the coming months" is far too vague. Help us help you, Microsoft!
- Sarah_GilbertSilver ContributorFirstly, I want to express our sincere appreciation for your engagement with Microsoft 365 Copilot and for voicing the concerns that are top of mind for you and your customers. We understand that having specific details is crucial for planning and managing expectations, and we truly regret any inconvenience caused by the current uncertainty. While I don't have the exact details you're seeking at this very moment, please know that your message underscores the importance of this information for our small and medium business (SMB) partners and customers. We are actively working to finalize the details around the availability and licensing requirements and we aim to share this information with the specificity you need as swiftly as possible. "In the coming months" is indeed a broad timeframe, and it's clear that more precise information would be beneficial. Our team is pushing hard to provide you with a more defined timeline and clearer guidance. We are also exploring ways to ensure that when the information is released, it is communicated effectively and promptly to our community members like yourself. Your eagerness to support and sell Microsoft 365 Copilot is a testament to the value we hope to deliver. We ask for a bit more patience and assure you that we are listening and taking your feedback to heart. As soon as we have an update, we will share it with the community here, and we will make every effort to ensure it reaches all our partners and customers directly. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us to better serve our community. Your role in this process is invaluable, and we are grateful for the support and feedback that helps us improve.

Hi Sarah, thank you for arranging this hour. I have a question about the functionality of copilot within Microsoft 365. I have been using the version that was launched on the 1st of November and though I am finding it useful it appears though that the colpilots work in isolation to each other. Do you have plans in the future to combine copilots together?
- rossparkmanCopper ContributorIs there any more updates on which regions now have Copilot LLM's available? Apologies if i have missed an update as the last i heard it was only NA with EU about to come online.
- GabeHoIron ContributorHey Ross, to clarify, do you mean Copilot availability? On 11/1, Copilot became available for enterprise customers world wide in the public clouds (non-education/gov etc.)
- rossparkmanCopper ContributorHi Gabe, I meant which regions are enabled for the processing of Copilot prompt data. For data processing concerns clients may have.
- LeighroyyyyyCopper ContributorI see new features appearing in Copilot every other day (the latest was the Copilot button for rewriting/adjusting Teams chat messages.) Is there a central location where these features are being announced or put onto a roadmap? It's tough to keep track of what features are coming out!
- DanNarlochIron ContributorThanks Leighroy, the two best places to see feature functionality of Microsoft 365 Copilot are: 1) Microsoft 365 Copilot Service Description: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/microsoft-365-copilot#feature-availability 2) Microsoft 365 Roadmap: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?ms.url=m365comroadmap&rtc=1&filters=&searchterms=Copilot
- ScottSchnollBronze ContributorCopilot will eventually be a product you can filter, but for now, you can use the keyword Copilot to search the Microsoft 365 Roadmap - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=copilot.

Although I acknowledge that Microsoft may have capacity concerns that have forced last minute changes in the release of Microsoft 365 Copilot, it would have been highly appreciated if Microsoft would be open and clear about this in all communication and documentation.
As I understand it, Microsoft 365 Copilot:- is an add-on only for Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 licenses.
- can only be purchased though EA, EAS or MCA-E channels, and only by contacting a Microsoft Commercial Sales rep.
- require a minimum purchase of 300 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses (and true-up to at least 300x Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 licenses).
The Microsoft Product Terms state that Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses can be added to Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Premium as well as E3 and E5, and the Product Terms do not mention the 300 seat minimum, and do not mention the exclusion of the CSP channel.
All the up-to-date information regarding Microsoft 365 Copilot originates from partner communication which is fine, but as this communication clearly contradict the Product Terms, it is very unclear what we can communicate, and what information is correct.
All the the communication up until November 1st clearly indicated that Microsoft 365 Copilot would be generally available across all the regular channels, for all the regular Microsoft 365 Business SKU's and without additional limitations - otherwise Microsoft would clearly have mentioned this.
The current frustration appears to be caused but all the inconsistent and unclear communication, and it could have been so easily avoided.
Please take the time now to sort out all this confusion, and tell partners and customers clearly when and how they can expect Microsoft 365 Copilot to be available without the current restrictions.
- PurviancejCopper ContributorMicrosoft should hire you to message this, there are so many Microsoft staff in this forum continuing to push the GA false messaging.
- DeletedBing AI - supports Microsoft's Copilot, I think that the unification of the name, causes problems with distinguishing products and their use for particular groups of users, it is confusing and definitely needs to be clearly categorized!
- agrecaIron ContributorI would second this 100%. Considering they are now calling it Copilot for Edge (I think) this has caused confusion as we are literally in the process of rolling out the product formerly known as "Bing Chat Enterprise" to our Org. The adoption kit was actually a very nice touch by Microsoft until they decided to change the icon and experience but neglect to update the adoption kit.
- mikasaarioCopper ContributorCan you describe in detail the technical setup how the web content plugin works? Is for example the Bing Chat Enteprise "engine" utilize here as well in the background? And could you also clarify more the privacy & data protection topic, when web content plugin is enabled, than what is currently described via the link below. Thanks! https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-copilot/manage-public-web-access
- PaulCinaCopper ContributorAny news/views on if/when Copilot will be available in China?
- PurviancejCopper Contributor
Follow up question. Any news on when copilot will be GA for enterprise clients? Currently it is still not available to enterprise clients that have less than 300 seats, making it not GA.
- GabeHoIron ContributorHey Paul, thanks for your question. We are currently planning for Microsoft 365 Copilot availability in 21Vianet and we'll use our roadmap communication channels to provide more details on availability in the future. In the meantime, multinational customers in China can buy Microsoft 365 Copilot outside of 21Vianet.
