Unleash Your Potential with Microsoft 365 Copilot: An AMA to Ignite your Productivity
Event details
Although I acknowledge that Microsoft may have capacity concerns that have forced last minute changes in the release of Microsoft 365 Copilot, it would have been highly appreciated if Microsoft would be open and clear about this in all communication and documentation.
As I understand it, Microsoft 365 Copilot:
- is an add-on only for Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 licenses.
- can only be purchased though EA, EAS or MCA-E channels, and only by contacting a Microsoft Commercial Sales rep.
- require a minimum purchase of 300 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses (and true-up to at least 300x Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 licenses).
The Microsoft Product Terms state that Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses can be added to Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Premium as well as E3 and E5, and the Product Terms do not mention the 300 seat minimum, and do not mention the exclusion of the CSP channel.
All the up-to-date information regarding Microsoft 365 Copilot originates from partner communication which is fine, but as this communication clearly contradict the Product Terms, it is very unclear what we can communicate, and what information is correct.
All the the communication up until November 1st clearly indicated that Microsoft 365 Copilot would be generally available across all the regular channels, for all the regular Microsoft 365 Business SKU's and without additional limitations - otherwise Microsoft would clearly have mentioned this.
The current frustration appears to be caused but all the inconsistent and unclear communication, and it could have been so easily avoided.
Please take the time now to sort out all this confusion, and tell partners and customers clearly when and how they can expect Microsoft 365 Copilot to be available without the current restrictions.
