- CopilotScottCopper Contributorwhat are the plans for calendar integration? I try to use copilot to schedule meetings & it says it is going to, but never does.
- Zack-ChuaBrass ContributorHi Scott, thanks for your question. Meeting scheduling with Copilot in Outlook is something we are actively working on. Please follow the public roadmap for when this feature will be available. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?rtc=1&filters=Outlook&searchterms=copilot
- Sarah_GilbertSilver ContributorWelcome to the Microsoft 365 Copilot Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA)! This live hour gives you the opportunity to ask questions directly to the Microsoft team. Please post any questions in a separate, new comment thread on this event.
- DeletedWhen will it be possible to create outlook elements from Copilot outside as e.g. Copilot Teams or Copilot Chat?

We are actively working on the ability for Copilot in Outlook to create content in-app. Please follow our roadmap for updates: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?rtc=1&filters=Outlook&searchterms=copilot
- MichaelEPhoenixBrass ContributorThanks for taking the questions! One of the common questions that comes up is for Copilot to be able to find out the best times for a group of people to get together. There have been other tools, plugins, and services that somewhat do this (like Scheduling Assistant), but if Copilot can do it, many organisations will see this as a game changer. Any plans on this?
- andymartin415Copper ContributorI've been able to do this via Teams CoPilot, asking via prompt to find free time between me and others 🙂
- MichaelEPhoenixBrass ContributorAbsolutely Andy, I use this too! It's mainly for those in-context emails and email chains. Further info in my reply to Zack below 🙂
- Zack-ChuaBrass Contributor
Hi Michael, thanks for your question! Asking Copilot to help find times for a group and getting the meeting scheduled is something we are actively working on. Please follow our public roadmap for updates - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?rtc=1&filters=Outlook&searchterms=copilot. Let us know if there's specific functionality you are looking for or scenarios that you are thinking of and we can pass this along to our product team.

Thanks Zack! For specific functionality, it is being able to ask Copilot in Outlook to arrange a meeting based off an email chain.
So imagine an email chain between you and 4 colleagues, and you agree that you need to meet to discuss. Asking Copilot for some mutually available time between your colleagues and yourself, including the duration that you'd like the meeting to be.
Understand that functionality is somewhat available in Copilot Chat, however a) this thread is about Copilot in Outlook and b) this is very useful 'in context' functionality where a user can seamlessly ask Copilot to find and arrange time based on the email chain.
- Bala_SubramanianCopper ContributorIt might be a game changer and a good productivity boost However, access to individual calendars and activities might pose a sensitive challenge. Cost Vs Benefits might not justify its implementation for general public but for an individual family or group might be implemented easily in the settings menu options.
- DFJ1615Copper ContributorA key functionality we would like to see in this space is for it to work with delegate access. It's usually administrative assistants who need to find time on manager's calendars. Without delegate access, this feature is limited in its effectiveness.
- GenisCCopper ContributorI have problems when Copilot tries to acces my Outlook Calendar and I don't get a good recap of the meetings I have on a given week or day. Or when trying to get meetings suggestions with a colleague. Is there any tips to enhance the performance on that topic?
- Zack-ChuaBrass ContributorHi Genis, thanks for your question. Are you trying to recap meetings through chat in Outlook? Through chat, the quality of the recap is highly dependent on the meeting being transcribed or recorded. If there is no recording or transcription available the summary will be less comprehensive. We are also working on bringing Intelligent Recap to the new Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the Web. With this feature, you will be able to access the recap directly within the calendar invite. Please follow our public roadmap for updates. This feature will be announced on the roadmap soon. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?rtc=1&filters=Outlook&searchterms=copilot Regarding "meeting suggestions" what kind of meeting suggestions are you referring to? If you are referring to Copilot finding time for you to meet with a colleague, this feature is something we are working on but is not available yet.
- Michael_ReprogleCopper ContributorMight be a bit out of the Outlook AMA scope, but are there any plans for adding Copilot connectors to Logic Apps or having a Copilot API? I love the Meeting Notes that Copilot for M365 gives me, but I was hoping for a way to automate this so that the tasks from the meeting that are assigned to me get put to a to do list or Planner, and while I can ask Copilot for this info, it would be much nicer to just have it create a task list for me. If there was an API, I believe this would be simple to set up.
- Sarah_GilbertSilver Contributor
This is a question that is out of scope for this AMA but happy to add this subject matter to a list of mine for upcoming AMA topics. Feel free to post in our general discussion board here , browse our help documentation .Also, if you want to submit feedback to Copilot you can do so with instructions here.

When will Copilot for Outlook be aware of Calendar categories? I'm anxiously awaiting the time when I can ask Copilot in Outlook to please tell me how many hours that I spent in meetings by category for the last week, so I can save myself pain every time I have to fill out my timesheet. Even better, would be if it would tell me by my display name for the category, rather than the color.
- Zack-ChuaBrass ContributorHi Arin, thanks for your question! Asking Copilot to help categorize your meetings and providing insights into time spent is something we are actively working on. Please follow our public roadmap for updates - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?rtc=1&filters=Outlook&searchterms=copilot. Let us know if there's specific functionality you are looking for or scenarios that you are thinking of, and we can pass this along to our product team.
- SimonHodgkinson0Copper ContributorLike a lot of Copilot for M365 at the moment, I'm not sure if I'm lacking functionality because I'm not using it right or the ability simply doesn't exist. My question is around shared mailboxes - Has Copilot in Outlook got any visibility of shared mailboxes, and if so, is the function limited?
- fabian-perez
Microsoft
Hi Simon, this is how you can add Shared Mailboxes in the new Outlook.
Please take into account that if you are using the desktop version the Shared Mailboxes will appear within the "Shared with me" section in the left nav bar.
- schwendiCopper ContributorWhen I tested, I was not able to get information out of my shared mailboxes. I tested with attached in Outlook Web including FullAccessPermission.
- arinkominsIron Contributor
Per the support article posted here: Copilot for Microsoft 365 – Support Tips, Part 2 - Microsoft Community Hub back on June 18th, Copilot cannot read from shared mailboxes.
Q: My users are really excited about the email summarization, drafting, and coaching capabilities with Copilot in Outlook but are running into occasional issues. Any limitations to be aware of?
A: Copilot scenarios in Outlook are only available on a user’s primary mailbox and not with shared, archived, group, or delegated mailboxes. With Coaching by Copilot, a user’s email draft needs to be at least 100 characters to use the Coaching capability. There’s no limit on prompt length when using Draft with Copilot. - AkPalssonCopper ContributorHi! Maybe I've misunderstood the capabilties in Outlook, or maybe some configuration in our tentant, but when we ask copilot to book a meeting with a person (i do have full access to their calender) it says "I currently do not have access to Anna's calendar to check her availability for week 29. However, I can assist you in drafting an email to inquire about her availability for a 30-minute meeting during that week." Is this a configuration?
- Zack-ChuaBrass ContributorHi Anna, thanks for your question! This functionality is not available yet but is something we are actively working on. Please follow our public roadmap for updates - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?rtc=1&filters=Outlook&searchterms=copilot.
- Greg NixonBrass ContributorHow can we enable Copilot to have better knowledge of what's in our Outlook Inbox? Almost 1 year on from the launch of M365 Copilot, it's still slightly depressing to ask Copilot "how many emails do I have in my inbox, and what's most important" and to be told "You have six emails in your inbox, and here are the most important ones", when actually there are several hundred emails in my inbox... When will M365 Copilot be linked to a properly indexed search of our Outlook inboxes, and when should we expect to be able to rely on it for help with prioritisation - based on a complete search of emails, not a small subset?
- thomasconstantin

Contextual understanding is one of our top priorities for Copilot in Outlook, and we are currently working on bringing better understanding and tools to help Copilot help users triage and understand their mail.
