Word Similarity Checker fails in desktop and web: “Something went wrong”

 Hi, since this happens in both desktop Word and Word for the web, I would treat it less like a local Office install issue and more like an account/service or policy issue. You already did the right local repair steps. I’d next test Word on the web in a private browser window, try a different network/browser, and check whether the same Microsoft 365 account works on another PC. If this is a work/school account, ask the admin to check privacy/connected experiences and any Editor or cloud-connected Office policies. Also make sure the document language/content is supported by Similarity Checker.
