My computer simply won't update to the newest Windows 11 Insider Preview.

Every time I go to install this update, my computer freezes at startup, then after many minutes of being frozen I will just get the Green Screen of Death that says ":( Your Windows Insider Build ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you." Once the computer does restart, the update gets undone.
Another thing I'd like to add is I tried running the Windows Update troubleshooter and it says "An error occurred while troubleshooting: A problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting. Troubleshooters have moved and this tool will be retired. Learn more."

- I have never had any problems in all previos updates but now I have made 5 or 6 attempts to load the install update Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.26052.1100 (ge_release) - after getting 68% the computer restarts then freezes, after restarting the computer myself it removes all new files and in Windows Update it comes up with - Install error - 0xc1900101 every time.
- I have updated every driver and chipset and bios running 37g version bios on the X570 aurous Ultra mb, updated NVidia drivers etc, it will not get out and past the loading of bios and windows setup and just hangs. then I reset it says trying to continue and it tries again and then hangs and I have to restart so it says error and it is restoring back to the previous and removing all changes.
to me it seams it is hanging up with bios or the setup of windows, something is way wrong with the update I am on Dev setup.

I have almost exactly the same issue. 5 times I tried to install and twice got the error screen described and one got partially through and got the Undoing message.
Same problem, Goes through the whole install process,
On final boot up undoes all changes.
Back to 23620.1000
- Same here just will not update sat it overnight and had to restart it in the morning and then it jammed up again and I restarted it again and it uninstalled it back to the last windows build tried this 4 times and it does the same thing every time.

I have no crash or green screen, just at the final boot i get a message that windows is undoing all changes and finally boots back up in the old version.
I decided, after many tries to wait for big Brother to fix this.
- after waiting for 2 weeks and running a few updates trouble shooters (strangely every run showed error corrected) tried it again and wasted more of my time.
Same result " undo update with xc1900101 error. I am done!!!!! will put updates on hold until this BS is fixed by MS.- Bonsoir

Same here! Can't update to this build cuz of this error: 0xc1900101
In my case there is no green screen or error messages. I just see the logo of my motherboard manufacturer, as well as the update indicator. After that, pretty quickly the computer just turns on with no problems. But in the update menu I see an installation error.
SpoilerI'm trying to upgrade from canary to dev.- If you could provide me with an update on what you've done so far. It'd be greatly appreciated to know if you solved this problem or not. This issue happened to me as well and gave me a wonderful heart attack when I woke up and noticed my bios was open for some reason as I went to sleep with my PC updating. I exited out of bios, and it loaded back up but froze on startup. So, I restarted the PC, and it rolled back and turned off. Turned it back on and loaded up fine, but I was on the previous update. So, what I'm going to do is press that wonderful button that stops updates for a week. Come back in a week and hopefully there will be an update that allows me to finish the process this time. I recommend everyone else to do the same as it seems like it's an issue with the update and not people's hardware.

In my case there is no green screen or error messages. I just see the logo of ASUS (my motherboard manufacturer), as well as the update indicator frozen. After 10 minutes, I've decided to turn off the computer that, after two attempt it automatically restore preview version.
No solution yet. Need to add that the download and install took forever. (1-2 hours)
that, already made me very suspicious. All my drivers are updated, and I disconnected my USB back up drive (which was suggested by Microsoft.
I had prior problems with update installs, but they would always work on the 2. try.
My PC is a Dell Precision 3630 Tower with a I7 gen 8.

- Same here. I have tried 4 times and all are stuck in the MB logo screen, I have to reboot the computer force and system will rollback. Tired of try any again, Waiting for the solution.
I must admit I don’t know what the ge-release stands for. I have made 5 or 6 attempts to load the install update Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.26052.1100 (ge_release).
Now after reading other posts, I realized that the upgrade started freezing at the first pass off from bios to windows also and then it would freeze with about a quarter of the rotating circle still on the screen. After I would shut down the computer with a hard shut down, I was now getting the install procedure starting but not too far before going to the freezing up stage again. After upgrading some video drivers and software drivers, on 3 more attempts I was getting 68% the computer setting up windows then then it would freeze. After a hard restart on the computer myself it removed all new files and in Windows Update it comes up with - Install error - 0xc1900101 every time.

Under Windows Update and it says;
- Updates available to down load
- Last checked Today, 10:41 AM
- Download & install all.
The Tab Below says:
- Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.26052.1100 (ge_release)
- This update couldn't be installed, but we'll try again later.
The difference is it doesn’t say retry and there is a new
- Download & install all tab.
I am reluctant to try again but I will probably give it another go this afternoon and will post my results then.

Same problem by me, with build 26052 and also new 26058.

My config: Ryzen 5800x, Asus TUF x570 Plus, 32GB, RX6700XT.
- I can confirm the still persistent 0xC1900101 issue for the new 26058 build for an intel 13600KF

edit: as I changed my wifi connection, installation started... will update furtheredit: so my laptop did restarted twice with a gsod once, and is now doing good
- The same here, tried on 3 different machines with amd cpu. Diferent Chipsets also.

On my Intel Laptop updated without issues.
I Believe it a MS problem with AMD either cpu or chipset - Try updating using Windows Powershell. Complete guide here:

- I have the same issue. Tried to install Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.26052.1100 (ge_release) trough PowerShell and didn´t work.
What else could I do?
- I exactly get the same error.
Since my Insider Build 26040 has too many bugs, I wanna update as guick as possible, but it does not work for 4 day.
