TiWorker.exe Windows Modules Installer Worker has a high occupancy rate
TiWorker.exe Windows Modules Installer Worker has a high occupancy rate, the laptop 13980HX is fully loaded, and the task manager shows disk activity and network activity as 0. In addition, the memory usage kept increasing (it was still increasing 15 minutes later). The system version was 24H2 26120.1542. Experience the Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.18.0 and the Windows update interface Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.26120.1542) (KB5041872) Download card at 8% (re-execute Windows update after finishing the program, display progress at 0% CPU usage is normal, when the card is at 8%, CPU full load),The update history of Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.26120.1542) (KB5041872) shows a successful installation on 2024/8/20. But Windows Update is still pushing me updates for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.26120.1542) (KB5041872), Shows up in history as a cumulative update of Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.26120.1542) (KB5041872) (2)/(3)

I have the same issue and it takes up more than half of my CPU usage and its kind of lagging my laptop, my CPU is AMD Ryzen 6800h with 16gb RAM, the issue is the cumulative update stuck at 8% same as everyone and i have to pause the update to make it not lagging. Please do update me if there is any other way to fixed this issue or bypass this update.
- mondojohnsonCopper ContributorSame issue here, halted at the same 8% mark as everyone else. Tried various solutions to no avail.
- ArturCopper ContributorI'm having the same issue since this morning if anyone knows how to fix this please say it.

I have the same issue.
The CPU (E5-2699v4) usage of TIWorker.exe is 99% and this process keeps to eat more and more RAM. I've got to the point where TIWorker.exe RAM usage was more than 1,5GB. Only way to regain usabillity of my PC was to kill this process. Windows Update fails install update KB5041872 at 8%.

Fixed it.
Downloaded https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso for "Windows 11 Insider Preview (Dev Channel) - Build 26100.1150" and installed it. Even though I was on 26120.1542, it still let me install 26100.1150 just fine and the install went smoothly (mounted the ISO and installed).
After installing, ran Windows update and besides the fact that Windows Update finally works again, it updated me to 26100.1591
Much more stable and responsive!
Hope this helps anyone out there!- MJFOX965Copper ContributorThank You for posting a solution. I can confirm that it works!

MJFOX965 I am so happy it worked for you, that alone made it worth the write up.
For anyone else (ping: cybaek; ldy04707; mondojohnson), the link to my thread regarding a fix wasn't working initially, as Microsoft/Forum-Moderators wanted to review before approving it for other viewers to see; which took an unacceptably long amount of time (a few days).Updating this thread as now, Dev build 26120.1843 has been released, and if you followed my fix/thread, it should show up in Windows Update (as it does for me).
I will install the update now and post any updates in that thread if any issues arise.
Thanks for letting me know it worked MJFOX965. I really appreciate it.

Same issue here.
TIWorker takes up 99% of the CPU and fails to install update KB5041872 @ 8% ( after updating with ISO to 1542.)
