Windows Stopped updating and failed to install updates

Question

Windows Update stopped updating after i restarted the pc apparently during a update.

there was an icon when i was preventing me from turning off the pc but it hadn't had an clear icon and text on it so i assumed it was nko big deal

bur from that day windows refuses to update

and it keeps failing updates to " try again" (opnieuw proberen) and insist i download and install "windows 11 25h2 (restore)" file

but even when i want to try installing it and its set for a restart. even then the restore fails and says "try again"

i think my only option is to "upgrade" the same windows again to keep my files right? or is there still another option or a tool that can fix the system or update files?

because i also have tried DISM restore health option and i even let it check with an windows restore usb stick with the windows ISO on it and check it with the install.swm file and that resulted in a "no problems found"

also the windows update troubleshooter diagnostic failed to run

any idea how i can still fix this without reinstalling windows ?

Your screenshots show that the update-based repair and Get Help diagnostic are failing, while DISM reports no component-store corruption. That result does not rule out every setup or servicing problem. Since Windows still starts, an in-place repair using official installation media is a supported next option that can preserve applications and files. Back up important data and your BitLocker recovery key first. Obtain media matching your installed language and edition, open it from within the running Windows installation, and launch setup.exe. At the confirmation screen, verify that Keep personal files and apps is selected. Stop if that option is unavailable; do not continue with Keep nothing or boot from the USB for this preservation goal. If setup also fails, record the exact error and retain its setup logs for diagnosis. This is still a Windows reinstallation, but it is different from wiping the computer or resetting away your applications.

i see that my bitlocker is turned off, is that maybe a reason the recovery fails or doesn't it have any effect ?

also, i have no options to "keep personal files and apps" and also the option "keep only personal stuff" are not available. the only option is: "keep nothing"

what i`m going to try now is booting from usb drive with ISO file and get windows in automatic repair mode by turning it off and on 3 times during the windows logo

maybe an update in a few hours

If you're not getting option to keep your data, this may be because of language mis-match between ISO file and the language you're having on installed device. Make sure both have same language.

i downloaded the media creation tool and it downloaded the iso in the language that is installed.&nbsp;

an update on the situation, i tried the boot from usb with the iso file and did the self repair that failed and did the: Uninstall latest quality update or Uninstall latest feature update options, but both failed to uninstall. i wanted to override windows with keeping the data but it showed the programs i would lost that are installed and that is basically reinstalling windows without keeping data even though it said in the option that i would keep the data. what if i make an image of my pc now and reinstall and install the image. would it then have the same fault state it is in now or wil it override, meaning it wil keep the system files that it has in a new state and override the old state of the system with adding the new state files or will it wipe the system again ?
