The i7-7700K meet the minimun requierments to run Win11. But its not suported, Why?
the thing is that they decided that they were not going to service all computers forever… a cpu life is supposed to be 3 years… then they could have offered 300$ for another service plan but few would pay it and it might not make sense …

I would avoid the workaround if possible and try to opt for installing either FreeBSD or Gentoo Linux. Gentoo has become an extremely user friendly environment and has received an incredible amount of acclaim and has recently been the top contender as far as personal computing operating systems goes capturing the most significant part of the market next to Microsoft and Apple. FreeBsd is a truly impeccable operating system that would really harmonize your components and make everything function better if you need windows compatibility for example for old programs you just need to use a program like bhyve that will allow for that… certain programs like Microsoft Office can be replaced with Libre Office is getting better reviews because they are one of the few business softwares that have opted to actually listen directly to the customers as opposed to the product owners, etc..

Stop advertising *nix to us. This is a forum from MICROSOFT about MICROSOFT WINDOWS. We are discussing a MICROSOFT WINDOWS issue with our CPU's. We don't need to keep getting our email notifications blown up by fanboy posts. Take it somewhere else. It is NOT a solution to our issue. It is just an off-topic excuse to try and gain *nix followers.
That being said, proposed workarounds exist and have been mentioned several times here. Switching to another operating system is NOT a workaround or solution. That does not FIX the problem. This topic exists because these users WANT to use the operating system being discussed with their CPU's. Suggesting that we just abandon that is a blatant waste of our time.
- BrianFatzNov 12, 2022Copper ContributorWell said, SugarDx. My computers are tools, not toys. I don't want them to become a hobby. I just want them to perform tasks. When I get the urge to play, I grab my guitar or build a piece of furniture.
- UQAM-informatiqueNov 10, 2022Copper ContributorI mean it’s possible that there are no more bugs but after 5 years you could also switch to freeBSD, rhel , or gentoo Linux to name a few good options or many other options ….
