The i7-7700K meet the minimun requierments to run Win11. But its not suported, Why?
I know the feeling.
No way, in this market and next year's inflation, I can afford a brand-new PC.
Maybe it's a good thing I finally have to switch over to Linux, at this point Microsoft is poor shaming people while spying on us.
Let us hope that Steam Deck is a success with more support for Linux.
- OtomotoDec 09, 2021Copper ContributorBut I am still going to Linux in the near future.
As challenge for myself and use it 6-12 months.
I don't know how people are going to react to this in developing nations but I can see people switching over to Linux in the foreseeable future.- SixpieceDec 29, 2021Iron Contributor

as much as Linus Torvalds would love the business Windows 10 is still a better option so don't change anything... is my suggestion. You will have less application compatibility and more issues most likely... another point is they say an i3 of 12th generation is more performant than in i7 7700k but I am not sure except they both have quad core, 8 threads, and i3 has a higher frequency... Hello
I think that everyone has the right to use the operating system that for some reason is best for him!
Windows11 does not require payment for the upgrade, and PC manufacturers are already contractually obligated to adapt the specifications of their products to the requirements of Windows11.
- nbelleyDec 09, 2021Brass ContributorYou can upgrade with no problem on an i7-7700k and still have all the security updates of windwos 11. You only need to follow instructions on MS Website. The gist of it is use a usb media stick to upgrade windows, the CPU will not block it and update and support will be available thought windows update for as long as windows 11 is alive.
