- Chris1231Feb 21, 2022Copper ContributorGood gravy man! STOP defending Microsoft's BULL-CARP!

Microsoft wants you to pay more. And maybe next time you buy you will know it’s a throwaway machine after 4 years.
- Immu7795Oct 19, 2021Copper ContributorWe all paid for our Windows OS and our i7-7700K, did not get in charity.

If you want to go more towards a charitable organization instead of falling for all the bells and whistles you could try debian or arch linux alongside libre office. You will save a lot of money but you might not be able to follow the hype.. and when Windows starts to go obsolete you should maybe consider switching to bsd or linux distributions… if you’re a business they usually ask you to contribute but their revenues are very low in the millions instead of billions. So even a big company like Microsoft that they themselves use it a lot will simply give them each a generous 25000$++ donation per year and be considered as a major contributor as an example. Since they aren’t as money and power hungry that they will sell their own mother to get a dollar, they support every processor basically equally, amd64 would be the version for i7 7700k.. opensuse, solaris, oracle linux are some other unix distributions possibly worth looking at… but it may be worthwhile considering as your machine starts to be considered by Microsoft as obsolete. You will find that these distributions are lightning fast with no more facebook like user tracking, or headaches such as black friday advertising on start menu, etc.. very simple to use and instead of ms office, and adobe acrobat you can use libre office, it is in a lot of ways better without monthly fees.

as you can see the Microsoft stock has been climbing substantially since the release of Windows 11. It was strictly a business decision to say well we are not going to code the i7 7700 and it appears to be working as it is setting Microsoft back on track to success. Basically each generation would require slightly different machine level codage implemented into the kernel to accommodate the nuances between different architectures that will require more testing, more support and less sales so it is not in Microsoft’s interest to do this since one way, users will be compelled to buy a new computer within 5 years or risk obsolescence and possibly security or stability while the other way a massive part of the market could continue to use Windows 11 for a longer and more indefinite period. Yes, one way makes people happy, but it’s like grazing cows at pasture, if they make the cows happy then of course that means not slaughtering them or not kicking out the newborn calf from the mother to get slaughtered as veal so that the mother can sit and moo in a lice, bug dirt infested parlor , be hormoned up, produce milk and when done doing that slaughtered. If you want to understand Microsoft, it’s time you think like a business.

Corei77700korBust it was a business decision to help maximize profits in order to help the company get back on its feet and make the stock rise back up again, against Facebook, Google, Amazon and the other sharks…
- Corei77700korBustOct 19, 2021Iron ContributorOnly 4 years old.
- SixpieceOct 18, 2021Iron ContributorAlso you should note that Power PC is the IBM Processor Brand so it’s misleading and generally those computers are expensive they don’t run on Windows however they run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, or IBM’s Z operating system… so yes you might personally like to refer to your computer as a power pc but a power pc processor is an entirely different thing and yes , I 7 7700k was one of Intel’s greatest successes, high performance, low faults, good resilience a really excellent run and one of their best sellers ever but unfortunately for you this is all the more reason that Microsoft wants it to be put to sleep it’s like having a dog that is not neutered in a sense amongst neutered dogs… they don’t want that and they want to bring people back towards the buying cycle..
- SixpieceOct 18, 2021Iron ContributorYes a breakthrough chip that has now been discontinued and Intel is no longer selling. If you look at this chip’s legacy, it will still be remembered positively since it was a staple of quality that was only been able to be early retired by the fact that a software company wanted to make a practical business decision and decided to brand it as not good for their own incentives..
- Corei77700korBustOct 18, 2021Iron ContributorIt’s a business decision that has more negative than positive outcomes with regard to the Corei7-7700k.
- SixpieceOct 18, 2021Iron ContributorIt has nothing to do with the capabilities or physics it was purely a business decision and the fact is the more different architectures then the more there is to code, more users to support and more to test… also by not providing the upgrade then Microsoft will earn a greater income from increased sales of new machines…
- MarkusWeilerOct 18, 2021Copper ContributorThis is really ridiculous. I am also concerned with my homeoffice power pc, i7-7700 is far more capable than lots of cpus within the HCL for Windows 11.
As all the others, I would accept hard necessities as TPM, but here NO technical reasons are named or visible.
Please overhaul the HCL. - SixpieceOct 17, 2021Iron ContributorThey are still maintaining Windows and they know you won’t switch to Linux , Solaris or BSD because Windows 10 should be better… you won’t have your excel, applications etc..

Also someone could say well I bought windows 10 , 3 weeks and it’s not the latest anymore… so they decided better to retire based on age of processors… so they are in the drivers seat and you just have to listen and pay up.. and continue to take your windows 10 updates…
- SixpieceOct 17, 2021Iron ContributorIt has nothing to do with the mechanics it’s all about what they legally have to deliver and at the same time what can maximize profits and minimize overhead… that’s why they cannot just make windows 10 obsolete and start selling the new version cause many bought it a few months ago they would have got ripped off it needs 10 years of coverage… so they did it based on age of processor..
