How to enable 'Never Combine taskbar buttons'. Windows 11 ?
Hi MarcusD2125
" 22H2 update = broken system."
Can you explain it ( 22H2 just restores the default settings for Win11 )
Does not damage Windows!
Whole point is that it's a hassle. Admittedly it's only going to be a potential problem every six months, but still not something anyone is going to want to deal with. Third party solutions are not solutions, they're band-aids and not really acceptable. More importantly it demonstrates potential for more severe issues or even damage to an install in the future. This time it was relatively minor, next time? Who knows?

Thank you, your answer is helpful!
I believe that the solution may be (uninstalling additional applications that have changed the registers in the system to have Win10 features, ) before installing the 22H2 update.

Deleted I have updated to 22H2 with no issue and updated explorer patcher with no issue, but did have to uninstall/reinstall it after an earlier update.
Glad you system works again, just with MS customer service would start working.

Deleted I believe the best solution would be for Microsoft to undo the chaos they've caused by removing this very handy option... 😞 And this was only an option, not default behavior! 😞
It's ironic that "minimalistic design" is mentioned as the reason for the removal of this option, yet deteriorating user experience for so many of us.
I'd push the minimalistic design even further - remove the icons altogether, why should they take up any space at all?*
* of course, this is only "sarcasm through tears"

I have 22H2 for many computers in Windows10, and I have all the features of Windows10.
Unfortunately, Windows11 was designed differently, Security was considered (as the highest priority, ) and this resulted in the removal of many useful functionalities, I will add that for this reason many people still remained with Win10 - which currently works Great.
Certainly, Microsoft should better explain the reasons for the changes, but it is the security that is the reason for our frustration (not minimalism).
