Forgot Windows 11 password and security questions
My Windows 10 laptop was upgraded to Windows 11 a few days ago. The upgrade process was completed smoothly and no error pops up. However, when the device restarts, the new Windows 11 refuses to accept the password I used in Windows 10. Is there any to recover or reset the password if I forgot Windows 11 password and the security questions?

Hi AZKmoris335,
you can try this to regain access to your Windows 11 computer when you've forgotten the password and don't have access to your security questions:
Microsoft Account Password Reset:
If you were using a Microsoft account to log in to your Windows 11 computer, you can reset your Microsoft account password using another device with internet access:a. Visit the Microsoft account recovery page on a different device: https://account.live.com/password/reset
b. Follow the provided instructions to reset your Microsoft account password.
c. Once your Microsoft account password is reset, use the new password to log in to your Windows 11 device. Please click Mark as Best Response & Like if my post helped you to solve your issue.
This will help others to find the correct solution easily. It also closes the item.If the post was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Like.

If you're on Microsoft account, you can try resetting your Microsoft account email ID password online using other device, and then login with new password on your primary device.
If you're on local account, you could use password reset disk if you created it earlier in advance:If you're on local account, and you don't have password reset disk, forgot security questions and password, you need to reset your system.

There are several ways to recover or reset a forgotten Windows 11 password. Here are some possible solutions:
Use a Windows password reset tool: You can use a third-party Windows password reset tool to reset your Windows 11 password. Download and install the tool on another device, create a bootable USB or CD/DVD, and use it to reset Windows 11 password. As far as i known, iSeepassword Windows Password Recovery is very good at doing this kind of work. More info:

Use a password reset disk: If you created a password reset disk in advance, you can use it to reset your Windows 11 password. Insert the password reset disk into your computer, then follow the on-screen instructions to reset Windows 11 password.
Use a local account administrator: If you have another local account that has administrator privileges, you can use it to reset your forgotten Windows 11 password. Log in to your computer with the administrator account, then go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage another account. Select the account with the forgotten password, then click "Change the password" to reset the password.
The above two methods are free and can help you reset or recover your Windows 11 password. If they still don't work for you, it is recommended to try some third-party software.
