"We couldn't find any results for" issue when searchig existing item in SharePoint list
Hi!
I'm currently having an issue where I search for a specific keyword using the "Search this list" search bar and I get the "We couldn't find any results for keyword" error message, even though the keyword searched does exist in the list. This happens with some columns on the list.
Any help or possible guidance on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
- How long was the item in the list before searching? It can take some time for indexes to catch up. Also SharePoint usually works with starts with searches depending on column types but you can also try using * after the term. Another option might be trying to go to the parent site and searching since that seems to search differently sometimes cause view etc can mess with searches to the list directly.
Other options might be check the indexes on the list settings. Maybe added a column to indexing there may help but I would do that as last ditch effort. - Brent_SiplCopper ContributorI'm also having this issue. It affects one user, but not others. The affected user is searching a shared OneDrive folder, and it used to work for her. It fails for all items, whether they are new or over a year old. The user has access to the items to browse to them, but search results are always empty. The item can be found by searching across the whole organization, but that is too wide, and we need to be able to search a specific folder, including it's subfolders.
- Try going into the list advanced settings and resetting the index on the list.
- Brent_SiplCopper ContributorBy the way, specifically I'm searching on a shared OneDrive folder. It happens for only one user in the tenant, as far as I've heard. But still, I can't find "list advanced settings" and I've searched the web for that and "resetting the index" for OneDrive on the web and can only find unanswered posts of other people unable to do the same thing. Can you please break it down, with steps to get to that setting?
