Use modern team sites and communication sites without Exchange online mailbox

Short answer: a modern team site is linked Today to a Group...this is not the case for Communication Sites. I expect that we will have in the future more modern site templates where sites will not necessarily linked to a Group

    Dear Juan,

     

    Thanks for your fast reply. Your answer is what I was afraid of.

    I figured out that using Standard Team sites could work out - with some post creation adoptions, by changing the start page with a new page it has nearly 100% modern UI feeling. At least for the standard user working with lists and pages.

     

    Unfortunatly I i think I can't use the standard provisioning workflow for that and need to create it from the scratch. :/

     

    I'm very curious About the groups Integration in some of the o365 Services like SPO and also planner. Because it would be great tools for the users but as long as we are not on EXO we can't publish it. Even the Services have nothing to do with EXO.
